Seeing salt in a new way

New evidence suggests that the right kind of salt intake can be good for you. In fact, depleting the body of sodium can be deadly. According to alittlesalt.org, “The sodium you get from salt is what allows nerves to send and receive electrical impulses. It is what makes your muscles stay strong. It’s what makes your brain work. It’s actually what makes every cell in your body function.”

A new campaign is underway to educate the public on the many critical and helpful functions of salt, dispelling myths and fears people may have about appropriate salt consumption.

From a well seasoned steak or vegetables, to safer driving conditions, cleaner clothes and IV bags containing essential salt solutions, salt appears to be making a comeback as the most essential electrolyte for human survival.
