Kate Middleton stepped out of her limo May 31 to shop in London’s Chelsea neighborhood, and onlookers immediately noticed some differences in her appearance. Though she was wearing a casual black dress with her hair tucked back in a bun and little or no makeup, all eyes were on her.
Though lately she’s been careful about keeping her arms or a purse in front of her midsection, In Touch reported in its June 18 issue that Kate let her arms down and witnesses were able to see a slight bulge in her midsection. In addition to the bulge, there were other signs that point toward a bun in the oven for the two popular young royals. Kate was sporting gray roots in her long, usually rich brown hair. Many pregnant women choose not to dye their hair for fear that the chemicals in the dye might harm the fetus. At several recent events, photographers have captured Kate holding glasses of wine, but there is not one photo of her drinking from them. Witnesses say they haven’t seen her drinking, either. Some photos have also shown slight acne on Kate’s face, which can surface during the early stages of pregnancy.
One witness who saw Kate during her Chelsea shopping trip said the bump underneath her black dress was quite noticeable.
“We thought at first it might be just the way her dress fell,” the witness said to In Touch. “But if you looked closely it was a definite bump. It was prominent enough to cast a shadow below.”
Life & Style reported in its June 18 issue that Kate has been going out of her way to hide her midsection. Most noticeably, reported the magazine, she wore a pleated red dress to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration June 3 that made it hard to tell if any bump were present on Kate’s midsection. She was also seen recently with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at an event wearing a similar pleated pink dress and holding a clutch in front of her midsection.
Life & Style also reported that William, 29, talked to Katie Couric in an interview recently and told her he and Kate were “very keen” to have a family. A royal insider told the magazine that William’s statement was a big deal.
“For him to actually talk about their desire to have children is a pretty big deal – it’s the clearest hint yet that a baby is on the agenda,” said the insider.
