Some residents of Albion, Illinois notified police of a bloodied streaker in their neighborhood around 11:00 AM on Tuesday morning.
The 20-year-old man woke up to find a spider in his bed. He was sleeping in the nude. The Evansville Courier & Press in Evansville, Indiana reports that once startled, the disoriented, nude man ran through a glass door, exiting his home. The man suffered cuts on his arms, a leg, and a finger.
Police eventually found the “streaker” at his home, sporting shorts. He was taken to the hospital to treat his wounds.
The young man works third shift at a nearby factory. Police believe that he was just disoriented when the spider woke him up. They do not believe that alcohol nor drugs were involved.
Edwards County Sheriff Darby Boewe told The Evansville Courier & Press: “I don’t believe any drugs or alcohol was involved. I just think he was sleeping in the nude and was really disoriented from waking up to find a spider in his bed.”
While the police were able to track down the streaker, the whereabouts of the spider sparking his flight are still unknown.
