Police in Glens Falls, New York, say that a man that was being removed from a local bar for allegedly having sex in the smoking room nearly completely bit off a male bartender’s finger.

The incident occurred at about 4 a.m. at the Daily Double at 59 South St.

Fort Ann resident Ernest Vannier, 38, was being removed from the bar by the bartender and several other employees when, according to police, he bit into the bartender’s pinky finger so hard that he broke the bone and nearly severed the man’s finger entirely.

Doctors were able to reattach the bartender’s finger, but Vannier was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a felony punishable by up to 7 years in  prison.
