Girl’s body, bleeding man found in church parking lot

Nancy Eomurian thought she was taking a short cut through a church parking lot in Long Beach, California on Saturday morning. Instead, she discovered what she thought was two dumped off bodies.

Eomurian stopped and realized that the 9-year-old victim wasn’t breathing. A man with the girl, who was bleeding, indicated to Eomurian that the girl was his daughter according to KABC in Los Angeles. Quickly, Eomurian called 911.

Eomurian told KABC, “I just thought they were two bodies that were dumped there. And then I really started looking closer and I realized that I didn’t think she was breathing. He was being more conscious, looking back toward me, but there was blood everywhere.”

The man was taken to the hospital with self-inflicted wounds from a possible suicide attempt. CBS 2 in Los Angeles reports that the Long Beach Police Department believes that he had a parental relationship with the girl and alleges that he was responsible for her fatal injuries.

Police searched a pick-up truck parked three blocks from the Los Altos United Methodist Church where the girl was found. The police have not yet established a motive. The man has been arrested and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Nancy Eomurian remains upset about the incident. She revealed to CBS 2, “When you see this young person so small, I think of [my] granddaughters…”
