The wife of former NFL cornerback Deion Sanders is asking a judge to remove a protective order that is keeping her away from their home.
Details about a spat between Sanders and his estranged wife Pilar Sanders began to emerge on Monday when Deion posted to his Twitter account, saying, “Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She’s going to jail and I’m pressing charges!”
Sanders also posted a photo of him and two of his sons filling out police reports.
Pilar Sanders was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault, and held overnight in Collin County Jail. She called the arrest unfair, and claimed that she hasn’t “been given a fair shake.”
Despite Deion having filed for divorce last December, the couple still reside in the same home, but reportedly keep to separate living areas. Pilar was served with a protective order the day after the incident, ordering her to stay away from the home for 60 days.
According to the Associated Press, Pilar is now asking that the order be removed, after police later cited Deion for misdemeanor simple assault during the domestic dispute. Deion was not arrested.
The AP also reports that Pilar is embroiled in a lawsuit against Deion Sanders, his daughter Deiondra Sanders, and his company Prime Time Enterprise for $200 million in damages.
