According to a report by dapd news agency in Germany, the shocking discovery occured on Tuesday and Wednesday while the cellar and garage of a 40-year-old woman in Langgoens, southwest Germany, were being cleared out.
Fox News reports that investigators say autopsies did not immediately determine a cause of death.
According to dapd’s report, when questioned by the police, the woman said the remains were the result of pregnancies that ended in miscarriages. The woman has four other children and is currently serving a six-month sentence for fraud, dapd reports.
Fox News reports that officials say no criminal charges have yet been sought.
