An 8-month-old baby girl has been listed in stable condition after being stabbed in the chest and neck by her mother at a social services building in Baltimore.
The Washington Post reports that police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the stabbing occurred just before 10 a.m. Tuesday at a Department of Social Services building. Department spokesman Det. Donny Moses says the woman used a long kitchen knife in the stabbing and will likely be taken for a mental health evaluation.
The mother is currently in custody and detectives and child abuse investigators are continuing to investigate.
