Fans recently watched the end of season two of Teen Mom 2 on MTV, which showed a very different ending for Teen Mom’s Leah Messer than season one did. At the end of season one, Leah walked down the aisle to meet her teary groom, Corey Simms, with whom she has twin girls, and it looked like they were heading into happily ever after, but fans watched their marriage deteriorate in season two, with Corey’s jealousy getting out of control. Apparently he had good reason, as Leah admitted she cheated on him with her ex-boyfriend, with whom she’d cheated previously, a week before their wedding.
While Corey couldn’t understand her infidelity, during the show, Leah said it was because he wasn’t being affectionate and intimate with her, and she felt lonely and alienated. In the reunion show after the finale, she said she’d caught him watching pornography, something she said she didn’t mind him doing as long as they did it together, but he’d been doing it alone, and that bothered her.
During the season finale, Leah had her lawyer file divorce papers, even though she said she didn’t want a divorce. She and her lawyer decided it would be better to file instead of waiting for Corey to file.
Featured in the tabloids since the public breakup, Leah has since picked up a new boyfriend, Jeremy Calvert, 23, a pipeline engineer. Leah, said Us Weekly in a story from their April 23 issue, said she enjoys the stability that Jeremy provides and loves how much he loves her children.
In January, the news hit the tabloids that Leah and Jeremy were expecting a baby, with some tabloids even reporting they were expecting twins. Leah, however, miscarried.
“It’s a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day,” Calvert told OK! about the experience. “It’s hard, but we will get through it.”
It’s that kind of support, say friends and family, that had Leah choosing Jeremy over Corey. During the beginning of March, the cast was taping the reunion show for Teen Mom 2, and Leah told Dr. Drew Pinsky that she still had feelings for Corey. Us Weekly reports that Leah briefly broke up with Jeremy in March to attempt to win Corey back. It nearly worked, said the story in Us, but Corey wanted to take things slow, and Leah had no interest in doing that. Jeremy, however, wanted to take things very fast. They were engaged before they broke up, and he wanted to get back together and get married immediately. A marriage and a family is what Leah wanted, so she got back together with Jeremy and immediately married him.
On April 4, the couple wed in a simple ceremony in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. There were about 20 guests, according to InTouch magazine, and MTV cameras caught the whole wedding. InTouch reports that a source said the couple were planning for a more formal ceremony at the beach in the summer at Myrtle Bearch.
