New “couples only” social network idea gaining popularity

New intimate social network for couples. Via Google Images

For those who feel that sending messages of love (or lust) to their partners on Facebook is a bit too exhibitionist for them, the new Between “global couple platform” may be just what the love doctor ordered. The site allows more online intimacy between two (and only two) people, allowing you to send private messages and photos to your significant other.  Past messages and photos can even be saved in a “Memory Box” , kind of like Facebook’s Timeline but sexier.

Can a social network be a social network with just two people? Apparently so– the concept is getting a mostly positive buzz on Twitter. @YannisAsimako sees the positive aspects of this service online: “Thank god, no more #couples accounts on #facebook!” Of course, there are concerns, such as the safety of online images and messages and, of course, how to handle the awkwardness of removing someone from your network after a break-up. Another concern is raised by @tguemes on Twitter,  “Ahrrggg, it’s sooooo sickly sweet.”
