Seventy-year-old William Oller of Shingletown, California was reportedly so annoyed with his son’s singing that he decided to silence him by shooting him. Oller’s son, William Jr., 50, chose to perform keraoke by choosing a Kenny Chesney song. The song choice and singing apparently angered Oller so much, he turned violent. Oller reportely left the house, got a hand gun, came back and shot his son multiple times.
William Jr. was taken to the hospital on January 26, 2012, after he suffered a gun shot wound to his arm and shoulder. He has since been released however, one bullet still remains in his shoulder. But William Jr. is quite forgiving. He said that a series of recent strokes likely caused his father to have such an extreme reaction to a Kenny Chesney song and he doesn’t want to press charges.
William Jr. told KRCR TV, “It’s totally out of character. The last thing I want to see is my Dad get in trouble or go to prison…He’s a smart man. I wish him the best. I love him.”
