A 9-year-old boy was found walking the streets of North Miami Beach, Florida, weighing only as much as a toddler. Neighbors reportedly found the boy walking the streets naked last night, around 8 pm, and called the police. The boy was taken to a local hospital and was also found to have multiple contusions all over his body. Police say the boy told them he had not eaten in days.
According to Local 10 News, the boy’s parents, 34-year-old Marsee Strong and 40-year-old Edward Bernard were arrested on charges of child abuse and neglect. Both deny abusing the boy but admit they failed to intervene when others abused him. Strong also admits that she neglected to get her son medical treatment as well.
The Department of Children and Family is investigating. Reports show that the family has been investigated by DCF multiple times in the past.
