They mystery behind the death of British singer Amy Winehouse has finally been solved and revealed. Coroner Suzanne Greenway wrote in her final coroner report that Winehouse died of “misadventure”. She further clarified that is was alcohol poisoning as the confirmed cause of death.
Winehouse died in her London home on July 23, 2011. The 27-year-old crooner’s death was a mystery at first because her family claimed she was trying to get clean and was sober at the time of her death. The original autopsy report failed to find any illegal drugs in her system.
Later, the family found out that while Winehouse had been sober for an extended period before her death, she started drinking again shortly before she died.
According to OMG!, the police detective who investigated Winehouse’s death reported that he saw empty vodka bottles throughout Winehouse’s home.Her blood alcohol level was said to that of 5 times the legal limit at the time of her death.
