Annette Morales-Rodriguez, 33, is accused of slashing a young womans womb open to try to abduct unborn child. Both mother and baby died. Mug Shot via Milwaukee County Sherrif's Department.
A Milwaukee woman faces charges of two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. On October 6, Annette Morales-Rodriguez lured 8 month pregnant 23-year-old Maritza Ramirez-Cruz with plans to kill her and take her baby as her own. Desperate to give her boyfriend, 30-year-old Jose R. Chaidez-Montenegro, a baby, she lied to Ramirez-Cruz stating she was pregnant. She offered Cruz a ride a home where she allegedly beat her repeatedly with a baseball bat, strangled her and proceeded to cut open her womb with a razor blade.
Both mother and child were killed. When Rodriguez noticed the baby wasn’t breathing she called 911 telling them she delivered a still born baby.
According to fox6news.com, a police detective says Rodriguez confessed in the hospital room claiming she was “sorry for the girl” and that the baby was in her basement. A lawyer for Morales-Rodriguez says she was never read her Miranda rights, and is claiming she has a mental disease. Her bail was set at $1 million dollars and will face an arraignment hearing on November 2.
