“You all have really made us feel at home and safe, and there is no amount of thanks that I could convey that would give you a sense of how important you all are to us.

“So this visit is special for me.”

There have been many visits to many different federal agencies for first lady Michelle Obama.  But her surprise visit on Wednesday at lunchtime was special to all who attended.

Obama was there to thank the Secret Service for protecting her family.

Telling the more than 200 employees at the Secret Service Headquarters, they are always “100% on point,” According to

“That is important when you’re trying to live a normal life and raise a couple of girls in the White House,” Obama said.  Adding her family has gotten so close to the agents of the Secret Service they actually bicker over who gets which agent over the dinner table.

“Sasha will come in, it’s like, and ‘you took Scott’”! Obama said. “Malia’s like, ‘you took Scott? That’s not fair!’ And then I’ll say the same thing to Barack — it’s like, ‘why did you get Beth?’ … It’s dinner table conversation.”

After taking a tour of the agency headquarters, Obama seemed not to be in any hurry to learn more of what they do.

“The work you do here is pretty scary,” Obama said. “Let’s just say that. All I can say is after my little tour is … ignorance is bliss.

“I just don’t wanna know — you all can handle all that.

“Just tell me where to run.”
