Tate Rosendahl, 11 months, the new Gerber Baby. Photo via Facebook.
He’s blonde haired, blue eyed and looks like he loves mischief. His name is Tate Rosendahl and he’s the 11 month old son of Amy and Ron Rosendahl of Springfield, Missouri. He’s also the winner of this year’s Gerber Photo contest and a $50,000 college scholarship fund. The photo contest is only in it’s 2nd year but has enjoyed enormous success. More than 150,000 photos were submitted, but there can be only one.
Mom Rosendahl described her emotions when she found out, “I was just so giddy, joyful and filled with so much gratitude that my son was blessed by such good fortune.”
“A lot of people think he looks like the Gerber baby,” she went on.
Last year’s winner, Mercy Townsend, was met with cheers and jeers. As indicated by comments over the 2011 winner, many parents, while painfully admitting to her cuteness, thought their child or favorite baby should have won.
Just like the last contest, who’s winner was only announced in February 2011, the six runner ups will receive an Apple iPad 2. Guess it’s more a consolation prize for the parents. By the time these babies are old enough to enjoy an iPad, we’ll be on the iPad12.
Baby Tate will also have the opportunity to star in his own Gerber ad. Makes your head explode just thinking of all the scrap-booking possibilities here.
