Myfox.com reports that a five-year-old boy in Hillcrest Heights, MD has shot a four-year-old at a local playground. Police believe that the gun used in the shooting is likely to have come from the boy’s home, but they have not yet been able to verify its ownership.
The older boy shot the younger one through the “upper part of the four-year-old’s torso”. The young boy ran to a nearby apartment where the residents called 911 and tried to help manage the wound. He was then rushed to the hospital where his injuries were pronounced non-life threatening and where he is currently being treated.
Police located the five-year-old and the gun he used in his apartment after the shooting. The parents and any other adults with access to the apartment are currently facing questioning.
