After challenging fate, actress Lindsey Lohan is once again off the hook. Although she failed an alcohol test, the current judge on the case ruled Lohan will not go to jail because the order for random testing was issued by a past judge and not valid.
The actress claims she was not drinking alcohol, and told TMZ it was a kombucha tea drink that caused her to fail the test. The drink is deemed non-alcoholic and is said to contain “no more than .05% alcohol.
Lohan was called back to court on Tuesday for violating her probation, stemming from charges that she took a necklace from a high end jewelry store “without permission.” She was sentenced to house arrest after pleading guilty to the crime.
The troubled star tested positive for alcohol in a routine drug and alcohol test which resulted in a probation violation. The failed test comes after a rooftop barbecue hosted by Lohan, reports TMZ.
Lohan said, “I am responsible, and I’m following the rules and obeying my judge and the Los Angeles judicial system.”
Although she is under house arrest, Lohan reportedly shot a commercial for online penny auction site Beezid.com. In the ad, that seemingly mocks the court and her sentencing, she says, “Hey to all my friends, I just want to share with you that during some of my time at home, I found this amazing site with great deals. It’s called Beezid.com. Be sure to check it out.” She reportedly hauled in $25,000, and $10,000 site credit for the advertising spot.
She also sent out a tweet “What’s a girl to do when she’s at home? Jump online to Beezid.com and get shopping!”
Besides shooting commercials and hosting gatherings for her friends, the “legally challenged” actress reportedly spends her confinement painting.
“I’d like to do what I must to get my film career back and the respect of directors, actors, writers, studio heads, fans and so on.”
At the probation hearing, the judge has ruled that Lohan can only have one friend to her home at a time.
