Forty year old mother Tina Adovasio, who has been missing for almost a week, was reportedly the victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband Eddy Coello. Adovasio, who worked as a maternity nurse, has 4 children ranging from ages 5 – 16. A neighbor told the New York Post that Tina and her estranged husband, Eddy Coello were constantly fighting and that the last time he heard them fight, he witnessed Tina with bruising on her face and a black eye. Only one Adovasio’s children, the youngest, is fathered by Coello. Tina’s other children, Joseph, Alexis and Michael, ages 16, 15 and 11 are from her first husband, Joseph Adovasio, a White Plains physician’s assistant. They were divorced in 2000.
Eddy Coello, a former NYC police officer, has been arrested several times for domestic abuse. He was suspended from the police force in 2000 over allegations that he was violent towards his first wife. Neighbors say that Eddy still lived with Tina Adovasio, although he would come and go. They say there were rumors of the couple getting divorced. Police reportedly obtained surveillance video from the apartment building where the couple lived and found a man dragging a duffel bag or rug out of the building. Sources say police believe the man to be Eddy Coello. Police are still hesitant however, to formally announce Ceollo as a suspect. In effort to gather enough evidence to formally charge him, police may be proceeding cautiously. The police investigation has now turned into a collection of forensic evidence at the couples home leading observers to believe that they’re looking for possible murder clues.
