A school in Orange County Florida uses law enforcement to control kids
An 8 year old special education student at Riverside Elementary in Orlando has been arrested 5 times due to his teachers frequent calls to the police. According to WKMG Local 6 News in Orlando, police have indicated that the teachers responsible for filing police reports haven’t suffered any serious injuries, although one teacher in particular alleges that he’s been bitten and struck by the boy. The police report indicates that the bite left a mark about the size of a pencil eraser head on the teacher’s knee.
Parents at the school are wondering why the school is using the police department as a form of routine discipline. The child’s mother contends that he doesn’t have these behavior issues at home. The same teacher who keeps calling law enforcement also alleges that the boy chases other students around the classroom and threatens to kill them. The child has a court hearing today. He has been charged with battery.
