Teenager, Christina Shae Brunes, age 17, was found dead after a train conductor reported that he hit a body, but wasn’t sure if it was “human or not”, according to Fox 8 in North Carolina. The body was indeed human whom police believe to be a teenage runaway. It is unknown whether the young woman was dead when the conductor called the incident in or whether he hit her. The accident was reported to have happened early morning, shortly after 6 am. The high school senior is said to have a track record of runing away in the past and was found in that area the last time she ran away.
Police are treating the incident as a accident but haven’t ruled out suicide. Christina reportedly left home with some personal belongings but apparently didn’t tell anyone where she was going. A tent was found on the tracks.
