According to starpress.com, the Grandmother, Carmela Dela Rosa of Fairfax, Virginia, was holding the 2 year old toddler and then out of the blue, she just threw her over the side of the rail. Family members and witnesses present appeared to be stunned. There was no motive, reason or situation that lead up to the alleged murder.
Family members have alluded to the Grandmother having a past history of mental illness. (Another reason why MT advocates those with mental illness be prevented by law to watch children.)
