‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman auctions underwear to pay mortgage

Hard times have fallen on “Octomom” Nadya Suleman, who has taken to selling her underwear to make money to pay the bills.

According to the Orange County Register, Suleman, who was thrust into the spotlight after giving birth to octuplets in January 2009, is currently facing foreclosure on a $450,000 mortgage that needs to be paid by October 9. So to try and meet that goal, Suleman decided to hold a yard sale. While some of the items up for sale were traditional garage sale fare like Halloween costumes, a small refrigerator and a signed Kobe Bryant jersey, some more personal items were up for sale as well.

Suleman also sold an autographed nursing bra and the red bikini Suleman donned for a Star Magazine photo shoot — presumably both clean.

Suleman, who drew comparisons to other famous mother of multiples, Kate Gosselin, and reportedly was shopping around for her own reality show, now says that she refuses to exploit her children and won’t use them to raise money. Instead, she feels that as a mother she should be providing for her children. “Tattoo,” an internet radio personality, helped with the sale and told reporters that “every single dollar is going to [the Suleman] kids.”
