Infant reportedly killed by rat
A four month old infant, Natalie Hill, was found dead in her crib, covered in rat bites. Police say they don’t know whether or not the baby died before the rats got to her or because of the rats, which would make sense — I mean, wouldn’t the parents hear the poor baby if she was being eaten alive by rats??
Disgusting!
WESTWEGO, La. — The father of the 3-month-old girl who was found dead Thursday, covered in rat bites, said in a radio interview that he knew his house had a rat problem, but he never expected his daughter would be attacked.

Not only am I going to kill these idiots for not rescueing their infant, I am absolutely disgusted! (Barfs violently) I also blamed the police because they always want to wait for something tragic to happened. Death to the parents and death to the police!

you’re dumb! you people get on here and write the stupidest comments. you don’t know the whole story. not everybody has the money to live a pretty life. granted they could have prevented those rats from hurting there baby. but to get on here a say dumb crap is wrong. people who murder their kids should be talked about like that. not people who had no intentions of there child being hurt.

a 3 week old,a six week old,a four month old attacked and bitten my rats? These happenings are to close togeather, this siuation about rats in a home, attacking a sleeping child and biteing them, causing serious injury and death.
If the baby was alive when those rats attacked her, she would have let out a big cry alerting the parents awake or not.

The police are hardly to blame in this matter! They are in the difficult position of trying to enforce laws and cannot do so until the law is broken. If they are not alerted to the neglect inflicted on this poor child, I hardly see where they’re culpable in this matter. The parents are entirely to blame and deserve NO leniency regardless of their background. Your unfortunate rant is indicative of the decay of society and lawfulness. How unfornate it is.

That baby was in enough pain to be screaming for hours while the rats were biting it, what were those parents doing all that time? Catatonic from drugs? Absent from the home altogether? No explanation would be sufficient to let them off the hook for the neglect and suffering their baby had to go through before such a tragic and horrendous death.
People who read this story and feel don’t feel a strong rage about it, are brain dead.

I find it unlikely that the baby was actually killed by the rats, as many posters have commented, the baby would have been screaming for quite some time, and that alone should have sent the rats off since they are more scavengers than hunters. More likely the baby died of SIDS, then the rats started to bite.
Even if SIDS was the case, the fact that the rats got to her before the parents is pretty disturbing. I wonder if there was a blanket in that crib, or if maybe mommy or daddy got a little angry with the baby crying all the time and shook it, even unintentionally before putting the baby in the crib.
