Father charged with abusing baby, fracturing her skull

You people are right nasty gits. And a bunch of newspaper suckers!!!! There are apparently no responsible journalist left in the Erie, PA area. What they didn’t tell you was that the baby was fell from his lap while he was trying to check his other daughters diaper. The baby just started the head jerk stage and he wasn’t prepared for it as he should have been. (maybe a bit off but any parent that says they didn’t let their child take a fall at some point is LYING!!!) She hit her head and then had to be lifeflighted. She wasn’t abused as you ignorant morons assumed by what the papers spinned in the favor of the injustice system and to help the Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh save their own a**es. What they didn’t tell you was that the reason they’re saying she was abused is because they don’t feel the retinal bleedy she had could have come from the fall. What they didn’t tell you was that just before the incident the baby had received a vaccination that causes clots to form in the brain and that when she fell it ruptured said clot. The Childrens Hospital, despite several (SEVERAL!!) requests made by the family did not perform a MRI until AFTER she had a seisure and then told the family that because she seized there was no way to determine when the clot had formed. Cory is a good man, a very loving father and the next time you dumba**es read an article you might want to stop and think about the fact that all too often the papers and news leave out details. Only horrible news sells and it’s because of people like you!!!

I would like to apologize for the dumba** and moron name calling. Just very frustrated by the amount of people that believe the falsehoods printed about Cory. The rest of my statement stands… he is simply not capable of hurting his children. The baby… perfectly fine and normal. Thanks to those that listened. I too used to read things and think OMG! what a jerk, hope he rots… but when it’s one of your own on the end of that written attack it changes the perspective of how you look at things. Yup… Cory and I are family. He’s my brother-in-law. I’ve known him for about 8 years now. And I’ve only seen him get mad twice. First time, when someone threatened his then pregnant wife (my sister) and the second when the drunk driver that killed my first husband only got 6 months in jail and a 3000 dollar fine.
Believe me… if we (his family) thought he’d done this there’d be no jail needed!
So again… sry about the name calling. This was the 15th site I’d been to today and was simply fed up with all the nasty thoughts.
And again… thanks to those with heart enough to care, even after they’d initially thought him horrible!

No the hell they did not. It’s people like you who care about sick bastards more than their own kids. You are just as sick as Cory Rankin if you stick up for him and if you are related to him that would explain a lot. Maybe sickness runs in your family. Even if it was an “accident”, that proves that he is NOT a good father or a father at all because these serious “accidents” dont happen to children who have caring parents. I am the mother of Cory’s 11 year old daughter. Cory lived with my family primarily since he was 16 years old. And before that, we knew each other since we were little kids riding horses and having fun. Cory would NEVER Hurt a child. I mean that firmly. He never lost patients through the 4 years he lived with her, nor the 2 years after that(do the math…it equals 6 years) where he babysat my other child so I could work. What the articles do not say, is that Children services(also known as OCY) in Erie county have been very drastically wrong. They have been sued, and lost for placing charges after police have cleared names through their investigations. That they have been sued for placing children back into homes that abuse occurred(think back a few years…2 year old little girl drowned a day after placed back in home). Cory has talked to me about this case since day ONE. He was extremely worried about his daughter, extremely worried about how his other two children would react to it. Worried, like a true parent is after an accident, I EMPHASIZE the word ACCIDENT. And Lay the F*** off of Steph. She is one of the Best mothers I know. And unless you know her, OR Cory personally, who the hell are you to judge?

Fey, what the hell do you expect? We read the newspaper articles and we judge based on what we read…DUH. We have a right to judge whatever the hell we want. I’m 15 and I read this article saying that a man abused his baby and of course I made a judgement based on it like I always do… and until it is proven wrong I will continue to do so. I could see how this would be an accident, but i’m making judgements based on what the newspaper said…not what 2 random people from where ever said. Got it? Good.

P.S. I will not “lay the f*** off Steph” because she knows that we were making judgements on what the article said and she decided to say a bunch of rotten s*** anyway. What did she expect?

I agree with Veronica. Also, Fey, you do not know anybody. People can seem to be nice but they are really evil on the inside. I learned that the HARD way. And you and Stephanie seem to keep saying it’s an accident. If so, how EXACTLY did it happen? How did the baby get so many injuries if she fell off his knee? My sisters fell out of the bed 19 times when they were little ( yes, I counted)and they did not have that many injuries if any at all. If you can’t answer that question then you don’t know Cory as well as you think and you should probably just be quiet. If Cory really is innocent, which I doubt, then I feel sorry for him but if not then I don’t take back ANYTHING I said before. That’s that.

I am very against child abuse. VERY. And if this were child abuse then he should pay and only he and God knows what really happened. There should be no judgement on anyone. Who are you to judge this person you don’t even know. Newspapers only tell you what they want you to hear. Get your facts all of them before you judge a person.

I don’t like it when people come to this site just to write down stuff, like “Hey I know this person, blah blah blah”. Trust me, Dawna, I would really be disgusted if I ever knew a person online, and especially on this site. This isn’t something that I would ever brag about.

If there are multiple members of his family saying he did not do it, why are believing some reporter trying to advance their career as apposed people who have known in for years? I think a site like this is very very wrong. You read the papers and you automatically assume the worse….Its people like you that give “freedom of speech” a bad name. So does that mean that there are really 100 yr old zombies giving birth to alien babies or zebra men attacking people? Does that mean that everything that is in print is the 100% gods honest truth??? you think its okay to judge someone?? YOU PEOPLE weren’t there, you don’t know what happened. You don’t know that this “POOR POOR child” was abused, or tortured. I have known Corey for a very long time seeing as he is my husbands cousin and I will stand up for him and go to bat that this was an accident. In the years that I have known him I have never seen him loose his temper, not even at the times he should of!!! I believe it was jesus who said let he who has not sinned cast the first stone, why don’t you wait til you hear the WHOLE TRUTH before you judge. Why don’t you follow what our constitution says that people are innocent until PROVEN GUILTY. Not guilty to proven innocent, and last but not least, why don’t you people get a darn life and worry about whats going on in your OWN homes and stop worry about others!!
