Toddler killed by roller coaster
A 2-year-old London boy was struck and killed by a kiddie roller coaster at a funfair after he wandered onto the track.
“There would have been a barrier surrounding the rollercoaster but he must have found a way around it.”
Mr Miller said the ride operator saw him and rushed to stop him, but it was too late.
“I can’t imagine why there was no parent with him,” he said.

How sad. I thought all rides had metal fences around them. Not just for safety but so they can check who is getting on the rides. These rides are just metal machines that will malfunction if not properly maintained. Here our carnivals seem well maintained with the person running the rides attentive to people boarding & making sure everyone is secure before starting the ride. And even then I watch them, especially when they get on & off since there are usually multiple exits. Anything can happen. It can be dangerous enough for a small child with all the wires they lay on the ground & generators they run. When I used to go I would stick to my youngest son like glue asking my oldest to stay with us no matter what. Strollers are also another God send for those with ultra active kids like mine were. It also helps to bring some adult help. Never hurts to have another pair of eyes. WE ALL as parents have had that second where we panicked. And we wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Yes, there are plenty of lousy parents, who shock me by letting their very young children run loose without supervision. Knowing how easily they can be picked up terrifies me more than them getting hurt. Talk to your kids, teach them, no matter how young or how many times you repeat yourself. They can learn how to keep themselves safe. God bless.
