Boy severely burned in hyperbaric chamber; grandmother dies

So sad. This little, 4 year old boy will now live a life of skin graphs and pain.

MT wants to know, why the hell a 4 year old was in a hyperbaric chamber to begin with! Hperbaric chambers are usually used for patients who have the “bends” from deep sea diving. All other hyperbaric uses are experimental at best.

A sheriff’s deputy plucked the 4-year-old boy from the burning chamber. He was in critical condition Saturday.

“They brought him out on a stretcher. His skin was blackened,” Nicole Huffman, a dental assistant who works in the same building as the clinic, told the Web site FireFightingNews.com.

HBO therapy is approved and paid for by insurnace for 14 different symptons. It is commonly used on children. Just google it and you can learn more.

My daughter has had hyperbaric oxygen treatments from the time she was 2 years old. She has had over 300 treatments. Thousands of children are treated in chambers for cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. It’s not just for the bends anymore!

Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy is aproved for 14 different conditions not symptoms. Whoever is assuming that it’s experimental should do his research before sounding stupid. There is experimental research being conducted out there and hyperbaric chambers are NOT primarily used for deep sea diving, there are thousands of chambers all across the US being used for wound healing every day, the fact that most people only see them in diving situations is why they assume they are only used for that. That little boy was in an off label clinic meaning that he was getting treated for something that HAS shown to improve “some” patients but not all, as a parent you will do anything for your child as long as you get a little bit more than what you have. MT shoud shut the F(@!# up before making remarks as he did…
