Toddler severly injured by horse kick to face

A 2-year-old girl in Nebraska suffered severe injuries while attending a horse show. She apparently got too near one of the horses who became startled and kicked its hind leg into her face. Why a toddler was allowed to get so near a back of a horse, we don’t know. The poor girl suffered major injuries, including a shattered nose and eye socket.

“She will wake up, scream in pain even though she’s on morphine. I’m sure her pain is unbearable. I can’t imagine. She didn’t have much of a face left,” said Brenda McGregor, London’s aunt.

The complete story states that the police are looking for the owner of the horse… as if the horse and/or the owner of the horse is responsible. As a mother and a horse owner, I never let my toddler NEAR horses… ever.

That was just one of the many pieces of misinformation tossed out by the aunt. There was no crime and the police are not looking for them.

What you must have read is part of a very incomplete story.

I will be so happy when the whole truth comes out on this story and all the witness’s come forth, this was a 6 mo. old mule who was fully contained by its owner, and the woman did not even approach the owner of the mule and ask her to pet her animal. the owner was in a line to enter the arena and no one was to be in that area but owners of the animals in that line she had full control of her mule, the mother was some distance away with her other child petting a pony and talking with another owner, so who was watching London??? so I hope soon that this mess will be cleared up and the parents have learned a hard lesson never put a child down in a area where there are horses, livestock, this was not a petting zoo, and the people there were not your babysitters to watch your children. I also happen to know that one of her other chidren was almost hit by an emergency vehicle as he was running wild after they move to the front of the building who was watching him?? thank god for staff as they pulled him from harms way, again you failed another child.

    To all exspecially Fran:

I was standing close enough to the same horse to touch its head I was talking to my 4 year old daughter, and her Aunt was within arms reach of her. In between us were my 3 year old twin nieces and my oldest niece lex who is 13. She was not left unattended. I have no son so whoever almost got ran over was not my child. I was in there area because we were directed to go through there to get to the next arena by one of the other horse owners. She said there was supposed to be a show going on in there. I am not sure what you saw or heard but it was obviously not the truth. So if you could be kind enough to stop spreading rumors that are very much not true I would greatly appreciate it.

Learn to control your kids. A good parent at an equine show would know better than to allow their toddler behind a horse (or a mule, in this case) for any period of time. The mother is a fool for not picking the child up and keeping her out from underfoot. It’s unfortunate the poor child has such negligent parents, and now she has the facial damage to show for it.
