12 year old boy shoots mother over chores

Giving new meaning to laziness, a chore challenged kid shot his mother over his to-do list…

Conlogue ruled that prosecutors had proved the boy acted intentionally and with premeditation when he shot Sara Madrid, 34, eight times on Aug. 1. The shooting happened after the boy had argued with his mother over his chores.

Madrid had left the family home after the argument, and the boy got a .22-caliber pistol from her bedroom closet, waited for her to return and then repeatedly shot her, according to court testimony.

Madrid’s live-in boyfriend of 10 years, Alfonso Munoz, witnessed the shooting and said the boy gave him the empty gun afterward.

This story is very sad. A lot of children do not know how to expess their anger in a way that others do not get injured temporarily or in this case permanantly. I believe that it is possible for a child to exit somewhat their body in such rage, that,… they act “impulsively” until they find calmness through their rage, whether that be inflicted upon a human or animal or personal property of the person whom they are angry at. I also believe if a child is taught at a very young age the consequences to the actions of assault, battery and or damaging property, no matter whom the victims are (family or not) that they will be held accordingly to such a degree that it instills fear into the child…The child should understand clearly that this unexceptable behavior and the smallest sign or threat or testing ability (crying wolf theory)will not be tolerated and the police should get called and then involved! This may prevent a huge mishap later down the line when they are fighting authority figures. I also believe that small problems that are dealt with at the earlier age of life are much easier to maintain, than when they are out of control. A child needs love, affection, there is no doubt!this is true, but it is called tough love as well, they also need discipline, structure and stability. Somewhere or something in this child’s life was neglected. It might have been attention or it may have been an overlooked disorder that should have been diagnosed before such a tragedy! I hope a good lawyer looked into the history for this young boy and the relationship inside the household, including the father’s role!!!! The finger prints of the father were the last on the gun?!!!!! Because he so called handed it to the father?! Odd! If the boy was upset and the father was home, please explain why the father did not step in to see the condition and frame of mind of the child and what he what why he disobeying his mother to the point that they yelled and she left?! Something is very wrong here and I feel bad for this family, I hope they provide some serious help for this bot, who knows maybe he will open up and tell a different side of the story. Even though it is too late, if it can somehow benefit another child and parent to learn the details as to if and why this happened (other than a mentally disturbed child diagnosed too late,.. that was overlooked) than maybe many other children can learn from and parents can be saved this tragedy in there own family! The same attitude goes for the victims of bullies in schools that explode with guns blazing. Because of study research schools now have reacted! No bully rule! No weapons on school grounds..some even pat the students for weapons. God Bless the good hearted and protect his children and their parents.

Okay. Maybe I exagerrated in that last comment, sorry Destiny. But still, I want to burn that 12 year old jerk at the stake. Anyone who would hit or shoot their mother should be burned alive!

That’s a little harsh. He’s just an angry kid. I bet when he gets older he’ll realize what he did and feel bad about it. I agree with you except for the “burned at the steak” part.

Yes, I agree Angel, when he gets older he will realize how much he need/needed his mom. I think he re-acted in a very violent way, but just by him handing the gun to the mother’s boyfriend tells you that he probably did not mean to go that far. Not sure how he was able to get 8 rounds off, without the boyfriend stopping him, but maybe the boyfriend was in shock.

That’s because the boyfriend probably did it. The legal system sucks!
