Injuries suggest baby continuously abused
A mom has been charged after officials investigating a critically injured baby believe he was abused continuously for 18 days.
[Maegan] Stuhan, an 18-year-old from Michigan, faces life in prison or death if convicted.
New Hanover County sheriff’s detectives arrested Stuhan without a warrant July 29 on probable cause of felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.
Here’s why: Logan’s skull was broken in multiple places. His brain stem was injured, and his brain had moved. Blood pooled in the outer layers of his brain. His ribs were broken, and his spleen ruptured, according to a magistrate judge’s order to arrest Stuhan.
