A man preparing dinner for his daughter’s birthday BBQ says he was “shocked” when he found a breaded chicken head mixed in amongst the bag of frozen chicken he had purchased. Because, you know, gnawing on the bird’s rib cage is just fine, but finding a HEAD?! Oh, the horrors!
Salesman Peter, 39, was about to grill the defrosted wings at the bash for nine-year-old Georgia when he glimpsed a beak.
The dad, of Bacup, Lancs, said yesterday: “The kids were horrified.”
He took the head back to his local Asda in Rawtenstall.
Store chiefs gave him £50 of beer and wine to compensate and promised to investigate.
Be sure to click through to the story to see how “horrified” his daughter is as she’s *holding* the chicken head in her hands.

An 8-year-old with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma was treated and had a high chance of survival, but only if he received further home treatment and follow ups. But the boy’s mom allegedly just didn’t bother to do it.
It might seem hard to believe, but in court papers filed in Salem District Court prosecutors charge that’s what Kristen Labrie of Salem, Mass., failed to do for her son, Jeremy Fraser.
According to court documents, the boy’s cancer has returned, and doctors said his chances of survival are now more like 10 percent. Jeremy’s dad, Eric Fraser, told reporters Monday that Jeremy might not make it to his ninth birthday, just weeks away.
Labrie, 36, was arraigned on child endangerment charges Monday, pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance after being ordered to have no contact with her son until further notice. The Salem News reported Labrie responded by saying “That’s OK, his dad doesn’t let me see him anyway.”

Uh, you know what, we’ll just let the story speak for itself.
Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s deputies say the boy is being treated at an Indianapolis hospital for burns on his chest. Officials did not release his name or his condition.
Detective Greg Haltom says the boy and his brother found a small deer carcass in a rural area near Lafayette Tuesday and attempted to burn it in a barrel. Gasoline or some other flammable substance got on the boy’s T-shirt and it caught fire.

There is just so much wrong with this story, we don’t even know where to start.
Authorities in Woonsocket say a 17-year-old boy beat, bit and raped a 2-year-old girl he was baby-sitting.
Police say the alleged incident occurred on Sunday and the boy was arrested early Monday morning after the child’s mother called 911.
Lieutenant Timothy Paul says the teenager, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, is being held pending a hearing to be held in Family Court no later than Friday.
The child was left in the care of the suspect by her 24-year-old mother, who is also the teen’s girlfriend.

Police have revealed more details in the situation where they shot and killed Antonio Torres, who had kidnapped his 22-month-old daughter.
During the final standoff near Pell Lake, police say that Torres put his daughter on the highway and pointed a shotgun, threatening to do the same.
His daughter is now in safe hands after he kidnapped her and beat his girlfriend.
Jennifer Popovich received the blows Torres dealt right before Torres kidnapped their daughter, and she kicked him out of their home because he was getting too abusive.
Yet in her mind, he still had redeeming qualities
“I know people are going to portray him as this monster and he really wasn’t,” Popovich told the Racine Journal-Times./blockquote>

A man is being charged with child neglect after he allegedly left his 5-month-old son in the bathtub alone and the baby drowned.
When police arrived at the home, paramedics had already taken the 5-month-old baby and were in route to Charleston Area Medical Center’s Women and Children’s Hospital.
The child’s father, Vereen Edward Taylor, 36, said he left his son, Zachari Taylor, in the bathtub and came back later to find him floating in the water, James said.
Taylor told police he had occasionally put the infant in the tub with the shower running and the drain open to pacify him as he took care of personal matters, James said.
Uh, hasn’t this guy ever heard of a playpen?!

A Georgia teen has been arrested and charged with child cruelty after a video of him launching an infant across the room was reported to police.
The video posted on YouTube shows the teenage boy putting a baby on one side of a large, inflatable pillow on the floor.
The boy then jumps on the pillow and the baby flies several feet across the room before landing on the floor and crying.
The 16-year-old Lee County boy was arrested Tuesday after a school teacher saw the video and called the sheriff’s office. The boy’s name was not released because of his age.

A mother waiting in line to enter the United States on El Paso’s Bridge of the Americas gave birth, making the baby a full-fledged U.S. citizen. Good thing she didn’t let anyone take cuts!
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers delivered the child as his mother — a 23-year-old Mexican woman who had a green card to live in the U.S. — went into labor. The woman walked across the bridge, which spans the Rio Grande, at 3 a.m.
She was sent to a lobby for questioning before being allowed to enter the country, although the office is on U.S. soil, said Rick Lopez, a spokesman for Customs and Border Protection.
The woman told officers she was going into labor, so they grabbed blankets from a nearby holding cell, Lopez said.

Police in Detroit are searching through neighborhood dumpsters after they received a report from a woman telling them that her boyfriend threw their baby in the trash.
The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and broadcast reports say police were looking for the baby Tuesday night and Wednesday morning following the 29-year-old woman’s examination Tuesday at a hospital. They are also searching for her 35-year-old boyfriend, the baby’s father.
The Detroit woman, who was bloodied and caked with mud when she checked herself into the hospital, said she had suffered a miscarriage. But police say she later said her boyfriend had taken the baby from her and threw it into a trash bin.
