Cheerleading coach accused of sexual assault

A cheerleading coach in Naperville, Illinois has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault to a girl he was coaching in 2006, who was 13 at the time.

Bradley Abrahams, 28, of the 4000 block of Gabrielle Drive, Aurora, is charged with five counts of criminal sexual assault. Abrahams surrendered to Naperville police Monday and was released after posting $100,000 bail, police said.

He is co-owner of ICE Athletics Cheer and Dance on Ambassador Drive in Naperville, where the alleged incidents occurred. A spokesman for the gym said Abrahams has had no contact with children at the gym since the girl’s parents reported the allegations to police in July.

This is NOT rediculous. I dated him just recently. I’m not saying he did it, but I was always a little leery of him. But if he did do it, I’m very disappointed in him. He never once brought up his past and lied through some things. If I was still with him, that would be awkward for me to have found out by the news nd such instead of him telling me!

How can you say this is being blown out of proportion. This is a grown man that has sexually assaulted young teen girls more than once. What would you consider a BAD person? Sexually assaulting a girl that was barely a teen and being twice her age… not to say having a baby with a teen… He is a CREEP! and to know that that was happening in a cheerleading gym, ICE ATHLETICS, and all those parents have known about this stuff for years, they just never wanted to face up to it. I hope he gets what he finally deserves. He has done this prior to this instance. THIS IS ALL SICK!!!!

Cheerleading Academy Coach Charged with Sex Assault on Teen

Naperville Sun Reporting

NAPERVILLE—Bradley S. Abrahams, the part-owner of a private cheerleading academy faces trial on charges of sexually assaulting a then 13-year-old girl inside the school two years ago.

Abrahams, 28, surrendered at 2:10 p.m. Monday at the Naperville police station, police Cmdr. Dave Hoffman confirmed. He was released from the station after posting $100,000 cash as his bail, allowing him to remain free until his trial, Hoffman said.

Abrahams is charged with five felony counts of criminal sexual assault while in a “position of trust,” according to complaints filed Thursday by Naperville police in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.

He is a cheerleading coach and part owner of the private Illinois Cheer Extreme/ICE Athletics Inc., at 123 Ambassador Drive, in an industrial park.

Hoffman said the alleged victim is a girl from Naperville. She allegedly was abused in “a series of assaults” that occurred throughout March 2006 at the school, he said.

Abrahams is scheduled to be arraigned June 3 in court, Hoffman said.

This is the second time Abrahams has faced similar charges.

He was acquitted Dec. 3, 2004, of a misdemeanor charge of battery. That followed a four-day bench trial in DuPage County Circuit Court.

Two girls ages 16 and 17 claimed they went to Abrahams’ home June 15, 2003. He was accused of kissing the 17-year-old on the mouth and fondling one of her breasts beneath her clothing while they smoked cigarettes outside his apartment on the 800 block of Beaumont Drive, in the Brittany Springs area of far west-central Naperville.

Trial testimony showed Abrahams had met the younger girl via an Internet dating site.

The judge who presided over the trial said the testimony of the elder girl was highly credible, but that of the 16-year-old was not, and that police and prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Abrahams’ actions had been unwelcome.

Almost every single one of you who has posted comments about this guy is exactly why the American Legal system is failing. This guy has not been convicted of a crime. He has been ACCUSED of one, and most of you have already convicted him. Last time I checked, he was ACCUSED of commiting a crime in Naperville, Illinois, which is a state in America. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but in America, you are innocent until proven guilty. Lets try to remember that.

Secondly, to the “IceMom”. If your daughter is afraid of going to your family gym because of this, it is not because of the accusations, it is because you have failed to properly educate her about life and the real world. Stop blaming your bad parenting on the rest of the world and take responsibility.

You know what they say “Birds of a feather flock together” I would be carefull with the rest of the ICE coaches. Ive heard some nasty stuff about the other co-owner. Just be smart with your kids, thats all im saying.

lol at mia, one of the instructors, who may or may not have done it (though for the sake of argument lets assume he did) and now u accuse the rest of the people working there of the same thing. thats just plain stupid.

though really, the girl is 17. by that age i really dont think you are completely oblivious of your surroundings and the ‘inner’ feelings of other people. he certainly didnt force her to stay with him whilst he kissed and touched her.

to mia, the other co owner happens to be my coach and a close family friend and he is nothing like brad whatsoever.. so before you open your mouth and make accusations, show some respect and don’t spread your lies when you don’t even know jason.

cheerleader, how dare you defend rapists by saying “everyone makes mistakes” and “it’s not a big deal” because if it happened to you it would be a big deal, wouldn’t it? How could a grown man accidentally rape a person? This was NOT a mistake and you are extremely ignorant for saying that I don’t even know where to start…
