Pit bull attacks toddler

Another day, another “pit bull mauls someone” story.

uthorities are looking for a pit bull that attacked a Cheektowaga toddler. There are concerns about whether the dog was updated on its rabies shots.

Two year old Brianna Warden has been through a lot over the past few days, and she’s got the scars to prove it. It all started when she and her mom were returning from a nearby park on Friday afternoon.

Anna said, “I came inside and the dog was sitting on the steps right here.”

It was the upstairs neighbors dog, a two year old Pit Bull named Doo.

You PitBull advocates are hilarious. You distort with your facts.

Folks, there is a breed-specific problem with PitBulls. That’s not to say the majority of PitBulls are a danger. The problem is, you don’t know which ones. Therefore, it is reasonable to view all with suspicion and caution. Do your research and ignore all the anecdotal evidence.

Pitbulls and Rottweilers represent less than 10 percent of the dog population, but are responsible for 75% of human deaths.

When PitBulls attack, they are absolutely vicious.

Lastly, there are genetic factors involved here; it’s a combination of how they’ve been bred, and how they’re raised. I am a dog lover, and have done my research after having a German Shepherd with many issues that I had to put down. If it was about how I raised him, he’d be as perfect as my two other shepherds. It was his genes. There are no bad dogs, only bad owners is a myth.

We just had a child attacked by a PitBull mix here in Minneapolis recently. And recently, a father was acquitted of second degree murder - his pitbull killed his son.

I am so sick of stupid people who get dogs and can’t bother to put work in socializing and training it. It’s too bad none of the lab or golden attacks ever get put on tv, guess that would make people insecure about the dogs they trust with their family. Give me a well trained and properly socialized pit bull and I’d put him with my kids any day.

Ban the deed not the breed. We don’t discriminate against races, what is the difference.

In my opinion PitBullRealist has it right, or nearly so. Don’t quote flawed facts, you need to wake up. Where have you been living that you can make a statement like “We don’t discriminate against races…”? I have a few comments for you; MLK JR., Segregated Bathrooms, Rodney King, Sean Bell.

Have you any clue the stats on Golden Retriever mauling/attacks? I didn’t think so, because there aren’t enough of them to cause concern! Pit Bulls kill people you retard. So do Rottweilers for that matter. My Rottie died last year and he was 110lbs of pure love but he didn’t look like it and people were scared of him because they KNOW the the breed can be dangerous (and he had a spiked collar). Its not rocket science honey(I assume you are female), its common sense.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING ABOUT THE PITBULLS. I ONCE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT EVER HAVING ONE AROUND MY CHILDREN. UNTIL I KIND OF “INHERITED” A PURE BRED PIT. I LEFT IT TIED OUTSIDE AND WOULDN’T LET IT NEAR MY CHILDREN FOR MONTHS. LITTLE BY LITTLE I LEARNED TO TRUST IT. I SINCE HAVE KEPT TWO OF HER PUPPIES SO I HAVE THREE NOW. YOU CAN KICK THEM, HIT THEM POKE THEM, ETC. NOT THAT I RECOMMEND THAT BUT KIDS DO STUPID THINGS WHEN THEY DON’T THINK YOU’RE LOOKING AND THESE POOR DOGS JUST TAKE THE ABUSE WITHOUT EVEN A GROWL. MY YOUNGEST HAS BEEN KNOWN TO PLAY WITH THEIR FOOD BOWL WHILE THEY’RE EATING.
SPEAKING OF RACE…AFRICAN AMERICANS MAKE UP LESS THAN 25% OF OUR POPULATION YET COMMIT MOST OF THE CRIMES. YET I DO NOT LOOK AT EVERY BLACK PERSON AND THINK “CRIMINAL.” RACE DOESN’T MAKE ME THINK CRIMINAL, A CRIMINAL RECORD DOES. SO YES, MANY OF THE ATTACKS ARE ROTTIES AND PITS, BUT I ALSO HAVE A CHIHUAHUA AND HE’S MEANER THAT THE OTHER THREE COMBINED. HE’S NOT CONSIDERED DANGEROUS BECAUSE HE WEIGHS 5 LBS. SO MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION BUT DON’T AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME TO BAN THEM ALL. BE EDUCATED ABOUT WHERE THE DOG CAME FROM AND THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO.

P.S.
I HAD A STALKER THAT KEPT BREAKING IN MY HOUSE–BEFORE I HAD THE DOGS. I DIDN’T FEEL SAFE FOR A LONG TIME. NOW WHEN I’M HOME ALONE OR MY CHILDREN ARE HOME ALONE, I AM CONFIDENT THAT NO ONE IS GOING TO COME NEAR MY HOME UNINVITED. THE DOGS ARE BETTER THAN ANY ALARM SYSTEM MONEY COULD BUY. BECAUSE OF THEIR REPUTATION, PEOPLE STEER CLEAR OF MY PROPERTY.

There are lots of interesting dog bite statistics out there (and yes, a golden can be just as dangerous as a pit bull), I suggest the book ‘Dogs Bite but Balloons and Slippers are More Dangerous’.

You look really pathetic trying to defend yourself, please do some actual research and then come back but not before that. Just saying, ‘oh I know they’re more dangerous’ doesn’t make you right. I can say stupid things too, like some breeds are inherently more dangerous then others, but obviously it doesn’t make it true. ;)
