Infant dies entangled in window blind cord
What a freak and tragic accident. MT thinks that the old-fashion, loop cords on blinds ought to be out-lawed in some new housing regulations, just like lead paint has to be maintained or eliminated, so should this common, but outdated, house danger.
The death of a 1-year-old Greenwich girl who became tangled in a window shade cord appears to be a tragic accident, police said yesterday.
Alerted by two 911 calls, police officers responded to a mid-country home at 3:26 p.m. Friday, according to a police press release.
It appeared as though the girl had been playing with the cord that looped around the bottom of the shade and became entangled in it, according to Sgt. Louis Pannone, one of the officers who responded to the call.
