Baby born without bones
The parents of a baby boy who was born with a rare condition — missing bones from his arms and legs, must consider total amputation or 8 year long, excrutiating reconstructive surgery which is expensive and painful.
THE parents of a baby boy with a rare condition which could see his legs and an arm amputated, want their brave little boy to be an example to others.
Seven-month-old Cavan Kirkham-MacCallum has hemimelia, which means he was born without crucial bones in his arms and legs.He is a happy little boy but his future means facing the option of amputation or painful limb reconstruction, which is only available in America and may not be effective.
Cavan’s condition was discovered by his parents, Bernadette and James of Allerton Drive, Burnley, during an ultrasound scan. But so little is known about it that no doctors could give the couple, who have an older son, Joey (6), any real information.

OMG that sounds awful. I feel sorry for the parents. Did they decide to amputate the child? Amputation of all 4 limbs just sounds horribe.

I would certaibly think an abortion would be the right thing to do. Why bring a baby nbno limbs into this world at all? it isnt cruel, a fetus has no nerves no feeling at all untill the the later stages of birth. I would not want my son or daugter to have to live life without arms and legs. It simplhy i not right at all. BUT… the parents should be the ones to decide, not me.

Why would it be such a terrible thing to bring a child in to the world with out legs or arms? Abortinon would NOT be the right thin to do. Look at Nick Vujicic. He was born with out any limbs and yet he lives a normal life and inpires many.
Yes the boy will need someone to care for him the rest of his life, but whos to decide wether he should of never been born?
yes amputations would be very awful, but abortion would be worse.
How do you know a fetus had not feelings? Do you remember being one?

Yes, this is a very hard situation. But, no matter what the baby will be a beautiful new addition to the world. All of deserve a chance. It’s God’s will that he be born. i believe God will not give you more than you can handle. Maybe, a baby with no bones was meant for parents as loving as them. and hopefully they will take the best of care of him. Because he is going to have special needs, it might get ruff, but not impossible. May God bless this family.
