Boy buried in sandbox dies
The 10 year old boy buried in a sandbox by his friends has died. Apparently, they saw the stunt on a cartoon and didn’t realize the struggles of the boy were serious.
Codey Porter, the 10-year-old boy buried headfirst in a sandbox, died Monday afternoon at Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center in Seattle.
On Saturday, the Everett-area boy was playing with about five other children, ages 8 to 10, when the others buried him in a sandbox of a family friend in the 13800 block of 59th Avenue Southeast.
“He was playing, and he was buried and when [the other children] realized he wasn’t breathing, they dug him out,” said Rebecca Hover, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
