No hug policy provokes embrace

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

An Arizona Jr. High School bans hugs lasting longer than 2 seconds to try to squelch increasing public displays of affection, but the students aren’t going to take this with their arms folded…

The “no-hugging” rule had previously been in the student handbook. After many students began expressing concern about public hugging and kissing in the hallways, the school began reinforcing the guideline by punishing huggers, which led to Friday’s protest.

Prior to the demonstration, the district said the principal and students brokered an agreement to clarify the “no-hugging” rule. According to the guidelines, small hugs, less than two seconds, are permitted but longer ones and kissing are not.

“We can only hug two seconds? That’s ridiculous,” Branham said. “It’s barely even a hug.”

Toddler beaten and forced to consume alcohol

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

And once again, children tortured like prisoners of war is becoming common place reporting. When will it stop??

COVINGTON - A mother lost custody of her 3-year-old girl after hospital officials treating the toddler for labored breathing discovered she was drunk.

The girl’s blood alcohol level was 0.15, nearly twice the legal driving limit in Kentucky and Ohio of 0.08.

“I don’t know of anyone who has seen that level of alcohol in a 3-year-old,” said the Kenton County Attorney’s chief prosecutor Ken Easterling, who has been with the office for almost 17 years. “This case is unprecedented.”

The toddler appeared to have been force-fed the alcohol because there was bruising around her neck and her lips were cut, Easterling said. He would not speculate on the motive for getting the child drunk, but said he sees parents on a regular basis who medicate children who are teething, have colic or are hyperactive.

The child also had fractures in her left arm, bleeding on the brain and numerous bruises on her body, authorities said.

The injuries are consistent with different types of abuse, Easterling said, but he would not elaborate.

Abandoned baby in cab; mother found

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

So, as it all turns out, the whole concocted story was a scam. The infant who was left in a cab was not left by her father, but rather a calculated move by the entire family to get rid of the infant.

Her mother? 14.

The Queens livery cab driver hailed as a hero for rescuing an abandoned baby was exposed as a liar today, police said.

Klever Sailema, 45, helped concoct an elaborate ruse to ditch the adorable child, who was born to a 14-year-old girl, police sources said.
