4 year old boy bound and duct taped at daycare

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

A little boy was duct taped, bound and held over a trash can as punishment at a Texas daycare center.

Poor little guy. He’s only 4.

Suffice it to say, these people should not be in the business of caring for and protecting children.

George Block, 48, and his wife, Julia Block, 47, manager of the Young Years Day Care Center in Jasper, were charged with child endangerment.

They each face up to two years in state jail if convicted.

According to an arrest affidavit, George Block bound the boy’s wrists and feet on March 3 with duct tape before dangling him over a “metal trash dumpster” at the day care center.

Court papers say Julia Block approved her husband’s actions as discipline for the boy “after a day of very disruptive behavior.” George Block does not work at the day care center.

The 5-foot-10, 240-pound George Block is known at the facility as “Bigfoot.”

The boy told child abuse investigators that “Bigfoot” wrapped his wrists and ankles with tape and held him over a large trash receptacle, according to court papers.

3 small children dead in Baltimore Hotel

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

A father murdered his three small children in a Baltimore hotel, yet conveniently spared himself. Apparently he was the only one he felt deserved to live, like so many parents before him who fail their children so miserably and murder their own flesh and blood but cannot bring themselves too off themselves too because they don’t believe they, themselves, deserve to die.

I hope it’s made very clear, when he rots in prison, what he is there for.

ABC 2 News has just learned that the bodies of three children, who appear to have been murdered, have been found at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel.

Shortly after 1 p.m. hotel security received a call from a man staying at the hotel claiming he was going to hurt himself.

Hotel security, along with Baltimore City Police, went up to the room. That’s when they found the three children.

More info. was later released here:

The man, identified as Mark Castillo, 41, of Silver Spring, called the desk at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards around 1:15 p.m. Sunday and said he had just killed his two sons and daughter, said police spokesman Sterling Clifford. Police identified the children as Anthony, 6, Austin, 4, and Athena, 2.

Carnival accident sends 4 year old boy to hospital

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

A 4 year old boy was accidentally lodged between moving parts and left unconscious. The boy was rushed to the hospital and is now reported in stable condition.

The following few details go to the first thoughts of MT and people all over the country I’m sure…

Alcohol didn’t play a role in the accident, police said.

“The operator was interviewed and he was sober,” Freed said, who added that no criminal charges are pending.

Teacher takes over bus driving duty

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

When a bus load of children on an Alabama bus fell into a dangerous situation, teacher Amy King became their guardian angel as she took over the wheel of a large bus when the bus driver passed out. Although some children were taken to area hospitals for their injuries, nobody was injured as badly as the teacher who probably saved many children’s lives as a result of her quick reflexes and thinking skills.

Hurray for Amy King!

SPRINGVILLE, Ala. — The driver of a bus carrying 44 children on a field trip passed out at the wheel, and a teacher’s quick actions kept the vehicle from careening into oncoming traffic, students said.

Math teacher Amy King grabbed the steering wheel and tried to straighten the swerving coach, witnesses told The Birmingham News.

The crash Friday sent 20 people to the hospital, including the driver and King.

King was thrown through the windshield and airlifted to UAB Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, officials said.

4 year old found weighing only 10 pounds

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

A 4 year old boy was being withheld food and water and was found severely malnourished and starving, weighing only 10 lbs.

PACE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in the Florida Panhandle say they have arrested a woman suspected of severely neglecting a 4-year-old boy.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Haines says the boy weighed only 10 pounds when he was hospitalized earlier this month but his condition is improving.

Deputies on Friday arrested 19-year-old Erin Brittany Markes, identifying her only as the boy’s caregiver.

Roommate suspected of killing infant

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

How in the world do you trust your room mate to watch your infant and say you completely trust this person and while you’re gone, the roommate tortures, beats and kills the baby and you claim that you just don’t know how in the world that could happen???

Perhaps if the parents had a collective IQ above the infants, they might have saved this little baby with their better judgment.

I don’t believe this babysitter/roomy was a swell guy who just had a bad day. This is a psychopath and you just don’t become a psychopath in a blink of an eye and decide to kill a little baby. These parent’s stupidity is what killed this baby.

The family of an 8-month-old boy who police say was killed by his babysitter are speaking out.

Easton Lee died while in the care of Tyson Chamberlain who is now facing charges of first degree murder and child abuse.

Police say the boy’s mother is Chamberlain’s roommate and considered a friend.

“The last thing I did that night was give him a hug and told him I trusted him” said Robert Lee, Easton’s father.

Parents may be charged in failed faith healing

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

The parents of an 18 month old who opted to pray instead of getting her routine treatment that would have likely prevented her death, may face charges of manslaughter.

In cases like these, it has always been MT’s position to place these stories under the child abuse category, because that’s what they are.

The parents of a baby girl who died from a treatable illness left jail late Friday night after posting bail.

Twenty-eight-year old Carl Worthington and 25-year old Raylene Worthington surrendered to police Friday. They face manslaughter and criminal mistreatment charges related to the death of their 15-month old daughter Ava Worthington.

The baby died in early March from an illness that doctors say could have been treated with antibiotics. Authorities believe the parents opted to pray over the baby rather than treat her with medicine.

Little girls chokes on balloon

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

A 5 year old autistic girl was found dead in her bedroom after apparently swallowing a balloon.

A five-year-old girl died after a burst balloon became lodged in her throat.

Lily Breen’s mother, registered nurse Angela, tried to resuscitate the youngster after finding her lifeless body in a bedroom, but it is thought the little girl died instantly.

Lily, from Desborough, Northants, was autistic and liked touching and tasting things, said relatives on Saturday

It is thought she bit into the inflated balloon and swallowed it when it burst.

Toddler being dunked in toilet captured on video

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

A 3 year old was videotaped being tormented by her mother’s friend and cousin, dunking her head first into a toilet and slamming the seat on her head.

You have to wonder, what kind of life would be in store for this poor baby, had someone not reported the video, probably a house of horrors.

The video shows the three-year-old girl being dunked in a toilet bowl, head first, and someone slamming the seat on top of her head, repeatedly. The child screams while others watch and laugh. The child is then lifted off the ground by her underwear, and a person tosses some kind of liquid out of a bottle at her face.

The child’s father found the video on a relative’s cell phone, according to Cleveland news reports. That video is now in the hands of police.

Toddler behind the wheel

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Whoops!

Two-year-old Shaylyn Lejoure had a memorable driving experience on Wednesday morning.

About 11 a.m., the toddler drove the family car into a room at the Victoria Park Inn. No one was injured in the accident.

And it wasn’t even the first time Wednesday that someone drove into a Regina building: a woman in her 70s had hit a pub earlier in the morning.

YouTube video shows boys fighting

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Police are looking for the person who egged young boys on to beat each other up and then posted it on YouTube…

BRITISH police and social workers are investigating “appalling” footage posted on YouTube showing two boys fighting each other.

The children, aged between 10 and 12, exchange punches, kicks and headbutts as a man filming the attack goads them into becoming more violent.

Police appealed for information to identify the two boys and the amateur filmmaker, who is heard sniggering behind the camera as the pair fight.

He encourages the boys to “smack the s–t out of each other”, orders them not to hug and says: “You’re fighting like girls, fight properly.”

10-year-old tries to rob store

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Police are claiming that a 10-year-old girl in Franklin, Tennessee tried to rob a Mapco Express late Monday night. The youngster made an interesting weapon choice:

[The store clerk] said he wasn’t sure what the girl wanted until she threw a rock that struck him in the chest. The rock was all she was armed with. The clerk said he was so stunned that the girl had to ask the clerk three times for the money.

“At that time, the clerk said, ‘You need to leave the store,’ and came around the counter toward the front of the store. At that time, the child ran out,” said Franklin Police Detective David Dixon.

It was the first attempted robbery at the busy Mapco, which is located just off Interstate 65.

The clerk said the main reason he called police was because he was worried about the young girl being out so late and trying to rob a store.

Uh, yeah, a note to everyone out there — if a 4th grader tries to hold up a convenience store, it’s probably a good idea to call the cops so maybe they can have a word with mom and dad.

Imprisoned father allowed to visit dying daughter

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

After federal prison officials received cards and emails from around the nation pleading to allow Jason Yaeger, who is in prison on meth-related charges, to visit his dying daughter, Jayci, they finally agreed. Jayci is suffering from terminal brain cancer.

On Wednesday afternoon, prison guards drove Jason Yaeger to a Lincoln hospice, where he spent several hours at her bedside. No one else was allowed in the room except Jason Yaeger, Jayci and the escorts.

Sources said Yaeger did leave the girl’s side to consult with hospice counselors and get some direction on how to speak with the girl about what she was going through.

Prior to Wednesday, the prison warden had allowed Jason Yaeger three visits to his daughter, but had denied requests for a longer furlough or an early transfer to a halfway house in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The warden told Yaeger it was not viewed as an extraordinary circumstance.

Teacher accused of impregnating student, taking her to get abortion

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Wow, talk about taking a sticky situation and making it worse. Stephen Peter Morrow, 55, a physics teacher in Melbourne, Australia, allegedly had sex many times with one of his students back in the 90s. And if that weren’t bad enough:

[Prosecutor Daryl] Wraith said that about four months into the relationship the girl discovered she was pregnant.

Morrow, who lives in Parkwood, Queensland, went to a fertility clinic with her, waited in the reception area and paid about $320 for the termination, Wraith said.

The relationship continued after the abortion, with the pair sometimes going to motels, the prosecutor said.

“This was a case of a young girl, it’s submitted by the crown, who was vulnerable, who was seduced by a much older man,” Wraith said.

“She’s striving in a difficult year to succeed and he took advantage of her.”

Transsexual woman claims to be pregnant

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

A transsexual woman in Oregon who has undergone testosterone therapy, reconstructive surgery, and lives as a man is now claiming to be 5 months pregnant.

Oregon resident Thomas Beatie told “The Advocate” magazine that carrying a daughter for her wife Nancy is an “incredible” experience.

The article carried a photo showing Beatie with an enlarged midsection, purportedly the result of being pregnant. Neighbors, however, think otherwise.

“Quite frankly, I think it’s a hoax,” neighbor Ron Schlieper told KATU News in Bend, Ore. “I saw him a few days ago and he didn’t look like that,” he said, referencing the photo posted on the Advocate.com Web site. “He was walking down the street with who I thought was his wife, Nancy, and I don’t recall seeing a belly. If that (picture was taken) a month ago, he would have been much bigger just a few days ago.”

Schlieper said Beatie’s wife said she was pregnant, KATU News reported. Another neighbor said the couple left their house every week for fertility treatments in Portland.
