Feminist panty panic
A feminist blogger had her panties in a wad over Walmart’s panty (I hate the word “panty” BTW, it gives me the heebie-jeebies) stock. Apparently Walmart was selling junior panties with the slogan on the front, “Who needs credit cards” and the back reading, “When you have Santa”.
Now, I agree with the feminist that the panties need to go, but for different reasons. Her beef was that it was anti-feminist. My beef is that it suggests that Santa (or anybody acting as Santa — as in, giving gifts) as a Ephebophile or pedophile. It’s downright creepy.
Suggestive pink Santa panties targeting young girls are being removed from Wal-Mart stores after parents objected to the offensive undergarments.
The panties, which were sold in the juniors department, seemed to suggest that girls don’t need money, they just need a sugar daddy — in this case Santa Claus.
The hipster briefs — carrying the slogan “Who needs credit cards …” on the front and “When you have Santa” on the derriere — caused an uproar among parents, who called for the $2.96 drawers to be pulled off the racks.
