Pedophile killer gets stay of execution

Imagine the anguish of the parents of an 11 year old boy who was abducted, thrown in the back of a U-Haul, raped repeatedly and suffocated to death, when the killers death sentence is temporarily lifted (perhaps indefinitely) because an undetermined amount of pain in the lethal injection as a violation of that killer’s rights??

What is wrong with this country that puts the rights of a KILLER, a CHILD MOLESTER before children?

Why is it that so many people think that the rights of adults to kill children supercedes the rights of that child? In the eyes of many adults, sexual assault and the death of a child just isn’t all that important and reduces the act to a rights of sociopaths, because they are adults and see children as objects. Any person who believes that is as morally challenged and derranged as the killer himself, but they somehow try to pass off their sympathy for the pedophile as being enlightened and elite. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Perhaps they fear for their own ability to commit such heinous acts.

Finally, Junny’s parents said, Schwab (the boys killer) called the boy’s school and pretended to be his father. He left a message to have Junny meet him and the school passed it along.

According to state records, on April 18, 1991, a schoolmate of Junny reported the boy got into a U-Haul truck with a man. Days later, Junny’s body was found in a footlocker. Authorities said he’d been raped and asphyxiated.

The family’s emotional wounds remain raw after all these years.

When they got the call that Schwab’s execution was stayed, the family drove to a relative’s home and debated what to do next.

Because killing killers has not been proven to deter crime. Because child molesters 90% of the time were abused and molested themselves as children…so if a child is molested, should he be killed by the state when he grows up to do the same if untreated?

Cynthia, if you wish to advocate for child molesting killers, then be my guest. I cannot morally or ethically live with myself following that line of empathy and sympathy for someone who brutally rapes and kills a child.

Whether or not child killers were molested as children does not absolve them from guilt or consequence.

It’s nothing more than a classic strawman; to suggest that because I want child raping killers punished to the full extent of the law, that I somehow believe that all children who were molested should be killed. You made that up and you know it’s a lie because you have no sound argument for protecting and coddling child raping killers.

Actually, I’m a social worker and have worked with men who were brutally molested and raped as children so, no, I do not wish to advocate for child raping killers. I think there are better ways than the death penalty to deter crime. The death penalty does not deter crime. I’m pretty certain that when a person is about to kill or rape or commit other heinous acts, he or she does not stop and think “you know, I could get the death penalty so I better not do this.”

It’s a shame you can’t engage in discussion without accusations and jumping to conclusions and putting words in other peoples’ mouths. I thought this forum might be about intelligent discussion. Guess I was wrong.

Cynthia, if you work with victims of pedophilia and child rape, then you should know that there is no cure for pedophilia. The only way to stop pedophilia, that we know of today, is death or complete separation and exclusion from all children.

I think the following will be very telling…what do you propose we do with child raping murderers, Cynthia?

Two wrongs do not make a right. What the pedophile did to the child was horrible, but so is death penalty. It should not be up to one man to determine another’s fate. I am not Cynthia (MT), but I propose that we lock child-raping murderers up, in order to protect the public. I do not propose that we kill them all. Pedophilia may not be curable, but man is capable of redemption. Do not take away his chance to feel remorse. Do not take away his chance to realize the magnitude of the crime he has committed.

A posting from a survivor of family molestation and beatings and then child abduction (and almost sold into human trafficing, but found by VICE 1st), beating, cutting, rape and near death experience, (also a current mother of 3):

Since horrific child abuse is a pattern, then wouldn’t killing these monsters end that particular circle of abuse in that family?
Two wrongs don’t make a right, so kill and get counseling? OR raise taxes; brake the economy because we can’t support the thousands of violent criminals that if released would commit the same act AGAIN?! When does being a killer give someone the right to walk amongst us again?

Don’t get me started on Social Workers, I’ll let Cynthia’s ideas be hers, (I will say Social workers do not earn enough money and if they did, maybe they would have more incentive to do their job better and stop giving kids back to potential killers just because they completed their departmental parenting classes—they really don’t work)…The problem with good citizens is that you are into rights for everyone, help for everyone, etc. But when someone is the victim of a violent crime and has been killed, there is no payback for them, no help for them, they are not resting in peace when their last conscious feeling and vision was pain, horrific suffering, confusion and fear! I cannot with a good mind as a parent knowing who walks among us in society, support excuses, mental illness or rehabilitation for those offenders who are violent and/or into pedophilia. Do you realize that there are pedophiles out there lobbying to make “it” and incest legal? My point is that in our country you are allowed to say you are a pedophile and lobby for something under freedom of our constitution without arrest. Where does this stop? I am not abusive and have no excuses or boo hoos for what I survived and I am exhausted from hearing others making the excuses. The laws need to change. Thank god for the freedoms of the NRA!

A truly civilized society reserves their sympathy and protection for innocent children.

If we lock up these child molesters, let it be in the general population of prison for the rest of their lives. They can feel remorse in prison too. My guess is the only remorse a child molester has is when he gets caught.

If these people think so highly of the humanity of pedophiles, perhaps they should offer up their own children and allow the parents who actually love and wish to protect their children, to be spared.

this is pathetic, No way does does a killer rights come befor a childs, Even if thats childs rights have parrished with the child. As a soon to be social worker I know one of the most importent thisngs in a case is justice, Where does justice come if we let these sick people have rights? I thought when you were put in prison you were goverment property…aka NO rights. I do think that lethal injection is a bit much, but by far does that excuse what is going on. There is other ways…All that Matters In this case Is That JUSTICE is served for this child. That is what count…and thats all.

Capital punishment as a crime deterent is debatable. However, one thing is clear, the death penalty is 100 percent effective against recidivism in pedophile murder cases.
It is a proven fact that pedophelia is a permanent condition, the high rate of repeat offenders clearly proves the abysmal success rate of rehabilitation, are we to gamble with the lives of our children? how many times have these deviants killed children after being treated and released from prison? how many times Cynthia?
Social workers and politicaly correct elitists de damned! protecting our children must take priority over these insane policies that endanger the most helpless members of our society.
Pedophile child killers must be executed.

People that fight against the death penalty are just in fear that they someone close to them will one day face it all the while they hide behind the word compassion. If a person is guilty beyond any shadow of doubt for a crime that gets them the death penalty then they should be executed. Have sex without a some sort of protection against it and you can get pregnant or an STD. Jump off a cliff without some sort of protection and you can get injured or killed. Rape kids and kill them and you can go to jail and or die for your actions. It’s not try before you buy people. There are no “take backs”. He was committed to do what he did. I don’t hear him screaming I’m innocent, I just hear “needles hurt” that’s not humane. How fn insane is it that anyone worries that they might “feel” or be in fear while they are on thier way out for doing something so much more terrible to someone else. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Prove that killing a killer is wrong. Is it still just “killing”? or is it achieving a balance? With that logic we will all starve to death eventually because we can’t kill anything to eat it, including plants. Who started this concept? Oh, I remember now, the folks that are guilty and don’t want to pay. Seriously. The system of an eye for an eye goes back further than any of these people, advocating life support for killers, can think. The only stipulation that I would EVER add to the death penalty would be that they are guilty beyond ANY doubt. No need in killing a vandal or a shoplifter just because the prosecutor had a really good case or the thief or vandal had a poor defense. Admission, take ‘em out. Caught red handed but clinically insane, take em out. Accidents are obvious. Remorse is obvious. You don’t accidently commit henious crimes and if you did you had better darn well be remorseful which would get you manslaughter. Henious crimes net you a death penalty. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Ignorance of your actions is no excuse. I can’t imagine anyone NOT knowing what they did was a death penalty offense upon being arrested let alone sentenced.

Again, they knew what they were doing would get them what they got or at least “if they got caught” they would face the death penalty.

You’re probably right the death penalty probably doesn’t deter crime but then niether does a 20 year sentance for selling weed. Neither does a speed limit. People for some crazy reason continue to kill and break laws. It isn’t a matter of deterance that we need. We need proper enforcement and swift justice. Kill the killers and get them off the books. Muslims and other cultures do have one major advantage over our society. They are committed to enforcing justice. Steal and you lose a hand. Poor defense but you are innocent and you lose a hand, I hate it for ya, but then again we have more than one person in our system that while not “innocent” they are in jail doing time for a crime that they did not commit. That’s called bad luck and unfortunate circumstance, everyone is subject to it. The brightside, they still have another hand and they have taught thier fellow man a valuable lesson. Don’t steal. Don’t even look like you are stealing.

Actually, it is factually false to say the death penalty does not deter crime (crimes for which it is a punishment). It is true to say it does not deter all crimes for which it is a punishment. However, that is not the argument. The death penalty does indeed prevent an amount of crime. It is illogical to think that it does not deter crime even without hard data. The logical end game of that line of thinking is that laws against a certian illegal action do not in any way deter those actions. This is a patently false, and illogical argument, easily backed by crime data. If the argument is that the death penalty alone is not a deterrent, that has been proven false as well.
