Family dog chews off infants genitals

Okay…why in the world do people leave infants and dogs unsupervised?????

This is so horrendous and awful. That poor little baby.

WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Police are still looking into what exactly happened in a Waukegan apartment early Sunday morning when a dachshund chewed off the genitals of a 4-month-old boy.

Fire and police personnel arrived at 1:30 a.m. to the home on the city’s far southwest side and encountered the infant — who was bleeding profusely — and took him from the scene in a helicopter to a hospital.

The father of the boy told police he was visiting his girlfriend with his son when the infant fell asleep on a couch. The girlfriend had placed blankets around the child and the two went into another room to sleep.

    this sounds very suspisous, why whould anyone leave a baby on a couch, i think the father an girlfriend might be holding somethin back, sure some ppl can be sick, look at poor baby P..
    how did the dog get through the babys nappie an clothes, why whould he even go for the genitals, the dog should be shot an the dad an girlfriend put in prison!! case closed!!

    This is the worst dogbite story I have ever heard. That poor child- someone should have protected him from that beast. I hate dogs I think all pits and any other aggressive dogs should be put to sleep! When I was pregnant with my daughter I was a severly attacked by a pitbull on my leg, belly and arm.Thank God nothing happened to my baby girl! I have scars and nerve damage but I’m thankful to be alive because I thought that Dog was going to kill me- But my worst fear as a pregnant mom was for my unborn child.But the worst scars are the mental ones. I cant even go into someones house who owns a dog- I refuse to put me or my children in a potentially dangerous situation! I want to buy a gun or any weapon to protect us while we are out walking- we live in a big city and there are a lot of strays most of which are pits
