Pass the PB&J, hold the vitamins

1 in 3 children take vitamin supplements? That’s crazy and according to new “research”, a waste of time.

Now docs are questioning the effectiveness of giving your children vitamins. Can synthetic supplements counter bad eating habits? I think not!

The new study, published in the journal Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, suggests that many parents may believe that multivitamins provide children with extra nutrients they might not be getting in their everyday diets.

However, there is no solid evidence that taking a multivitamin improves a child’s health.

Well, vitamins are not going to improve a child’s health. There are many factors that influence their growth and development. I think it is quite important for parents to provide their children with nutritious food. They should supplement their diet with vitamins not substitute it. Also, it is important to find quality vitamins not the cheapest ones. The reason being is that many cheaper quality vitamins contains harmful fillers instead of active ingredient.
