While I realize most children aren’t gnawing away on their lunch box, I can see these toys definitely ending up in a baby’s or toddler’s mouth. The Fun Ball is orange, about 4 inches around, and printed with “Reg. #PA-10623(HK).” Regent says to return the item to place of purchase, but the thing was only $1 so just get rid of it. Wait, if it has lead in it, can you just throw it in the trash? Who knew a dumb dollar store toy could be such a pain in the ass… Tag: Toy Recalls |

When are manufacturers of kid products and toys going to crack down on China’s ass and stop importing their shit if they don’t stop using lead based paint? We have continued

[…] know I’m about to start sounding like Bill O’Reilly and putting China on notice, but for chrissakes there’s yet another toy recall due to high levels of lead paint. This […]

I am told that I am probably overreacting, but my son was recently lead tested and I got a notice from the board of health stating that he has high levels of lead. Most children test at 3 to 5, and he is currently at 13. I am wracking my brain to figure out where he has been exposed, and to think that his lunch boxes, or toys that may be at daycare could be the cause makes me absolutely furious! I still plan to have everything else tested just to be sure, but where in the heck is our government when they are allowing the import of toys for children, or lunch boxes that hold food to contain LEAD????

Where is our government?
Insiders say that Michael Baroody, chief lobbyist for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), a powerful trade group that opposes aggressive product safety regulation, is President Bush’s choice to head the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
And here is a list of things he’s done:

Note: Baroody did withdraw his nomination about a month ago. I don’t know who the new nominee is or if he is any better. It’s probably the lobbyist for the lead paint manufacturer’s of China….

I don’t know about gnawing on the lunchboxes - but what about the food kept in them? How much lead, a substance that can cause developemental delays and ultimately death, is leeching into my child’s orange, or apple, or banana from that lunchbox? BTW - the ’safe’ level of lead is considered to be 10pml and yet it has been proven in some cases that 3-5 is enough to cause BRAIN DAMAGE! Yet, because of the ‘level cap’ some doctors won’t bother telling parents unless it’s over that 10. I love my country, it’s the government I’m afraid of.
