sorry the check in is so late! I've had a crazy week.

so, I've totally regressed with my water intake but have lost 1.5 last week.

How are you all doing? Any tips for me with water? It's not that I hate it or anything, I just would soooo prefer to drink a diet coke! Pretty much the only time I have water is when I'm working out or walking, and sometimes with dinner.

I'm doing really well. I've cut my calories down to 1200-1500 calories a day (which sucks, FYI) and started really working out. I get up early and do a workout DVD (the Slim in 6 series is awesome) and usually ride the exercise bike for about 30 minutes in the evening. I'm down 3.5 pounds! Woohoo!

As for your water intake, just make that the only thing you drink. Don't even buy soft drinks or anything else. If you don't buy them, you can't drink them! I drink 1 cup of hot tea in the morning and water the rest of the day. There are days when I could murder a Pepsi, but I have to be strong. Sometimes I cave, but mostly I'm okay.

BTW, a great way to keep track of your food and exercise is to get a free account at www.fitday.com You can input everything you eat (you can even put in foods that aren't listed) and keep track of the calories burned. It's really helpful to keep you from going over your calorie intake goal.

JM, wow only 1200 calories?! WHat do you eat on that? Seems very restictive to me.

I'm trying to be real good with the water thing. I carry a big bottle with me and make sure I drink it during the day. I don't restrict other things though. I still have a cup of coffee in the am w/ one cream. And if I want a soda, I will have a diet 7up or a diet dr. pepper, just one a day. As long as I have a ton of water too, I don't feel guilty about it.

I've lost 2 lbs. I've cut my calories down pretty low, too (but I'm not sharing any numbers Wink ). I did get my blood work back and my thyroid is perfectly within normal limits Mad so I can't blame that. Encouraging, was my cholesterol, it was a LOT lower than I thought it would be (very much below the recommended 200), and my HDL wasn't bad, but I could get that up a little higher. So, my overall health is good--probably due to my diligent exercise. I just need to eat a lot less, which I have been doing. I go to bed with that aching, hollow, hungry feeling in my stomach and I lose weight. It sucks.

Oh, and water. It's pretty much all I drink all day, too. I do have two cups of coffee in the morning, one cup of coffee in the afternoon and then Diet Pepsi with dinner. But, every time I'm in the kitchen, I refill my glass and chug the water.

Wow CONGRATS guys on all the weight loss! GREAT JOB cheers

I've done ok this week. I made it to the gym for spinning tues and today and did my weights class on monday. I was supposed to do my class yesterday but Mr. Jack was misbehaving in the daycare so I had to leave. Needless to say I was pissed!

Eating wise I've really been the same as I've been. I'm not really dieting and haven't been keeping track of anything. I need to start doing this. Thanks for the link Julymom. I bet if I started doing that I would be able to eat fewer calories!

Easter candy is going to kill me over the next several days though cat

PP, that is great that your labs all came back good. Don't be discouraged that you can't blame anything on the thyroid. People w/ hypothyroid have a hard time controlling their weight AND cholesterol (notorious for high cholesterol and needing meds) even when on synthetic hormone. At this point, you know your metabolism works and you can always loose weight and control your cholesterol w/o meds.
I get my cholesterol and H&H tested often. I'm on the low side for iron (11, when I should be 12) and my cholesterol averages in the 130s (abnormally low) but that also makes my HDL abnormally low. It ain't good! Its probably because I should probably eat way more than I do, but I don't, which has gotten my body in this unhealthy cycle, low iron, hematocrit, and low good cholesterol. Today I drank way too much coffee and had a splitting headache on the drive home. Thought I was going to Sick Sick in the car!!! lol

That's great on the pounds you all are losing! If you're having trouble with drinking water, what about those little Crystal Lite packets you put in the water bottle? Better than not drinking any water or drinking soft drinks instead, right? I also just read that drinking really icey cold water burns calories because your body tries to warm it up, or something like that. Wink

I have not been doing much walking because of problems with my feet and ankles swelling in the afternoons. I've walked about 4 blocks to the park commission volleyball sand pit to play with the kids a few times this week, so I guess that's something. I've been doing better about drinking more water, and I got some Rainbow Light prenatals which are packed with all kinds of extra good stuff and will hopefully get my iron up so my crazy pica will go away. So for now my main goal is keep drinking water, avoid the salt I crave to pour straight down my throat, and try to get some form of exercise.
