So what is everyone doing for the 4th of July?
Have any traditions? Going somewhere?
The 4th of July is the anniversary of Dh and my first date 13 years ago. Every year we watch the fireworks on a blanket and smooch and remember way back when.
But this year he has a long fishing trip planned for us. We're going back to Idaho to go fishing at a dam. It's 5 hours to get to my sister's MIL and FIL house, and then another 2-3 hours to get to the fishing spot from there. Then we have to load up all of the stuff onto the boat, toot it across the dam lake, then come back for another load, etc. NOT looking forward to it! DH just cannot understand why I'm not excited to go.
Here's to 4th of July fishing! <"}}}}}>< |

My husband and I met at a 4th of July picnic 21 years ago. My daughter's birthday is the 5th, so we'll be busy with that. It's her 13th, so she's excited.
I started contractions with her while watching fire works. |

Happy 4th everyone! We're going to my parents this year. Each year kinda depends on what we do! Some years we go to the park to watch the "firecookies" as my kids have always called them, and sometimes we go sit on the side of the road so we can see them really well. We've also gone to the St.Louis Arch to watch them. My sister is the wild one and usually buys the big works to do at my parents house but it always makes me uneasy! So no, we dont have any 4th traditions but we do have fun every year!
Hope you have fun! Enjoy fishing! lol
Oh and happy anniverserys to you and Ephesians! |

I love the "fire cookies." I was sad when my kids stopped talking baby talk.
Thanks for the happy birthday, Sarah R. |

Well, I have to work on the 3rd and the 4th. (Booooo, hiss...hiss.)
But, this weekend we're taking a mini-vaca downtown and staying overnight for fireworks, food and a kids concert. I'm so looking forward to it. I just want to veg in front of a beautiful view and drink some wine, or a lot of wine and enjoy my family. Of course, the kids will probably be fighting and it will probably rain, because that's kinda how my life goes, but whatever...I can relax in any kind of weather, right?
Ephesians, happy birthday to your dd and happy anniversary. Big days for both of you. |

Wow, the blog and community have been BUSY while I was gone!
OK, so back from fishing. It was great. I thought I was going to hate every second of it, but I was wrong.
The worst day was driving there. It reached a high of 107 degrees near Moscow ID, and we had NO A/C!!! The a/c was broken so we had to keep the windows down. It sucked! Plus, we left town at 8:30am and didn't arrive at camp until 6pm!!!
But my kiddos were good. We fished. I handled slimy fish and squirmy maggots. Got sunburned. Swam in the resevoir/lake.
The best part was just sitting in the shade and BS'ing with old friends. Just picking on each other and remembering old hunting stories and injuries. It was great.
But on the drive home my 4 yr old got car sick in the truck and puked twice. Well, shit, if Dh wouldn't take those bumpy mountain roads like they were a NASCAR track! |

| Happy 4th everyone!!!! We had a hot one here in Atlanta but the fireworks were beautiful as always. Scared my daughter a little but hearing her go "LOOOOKKKK!!!!" in awe of the explosions was worth the heat and fatigue. |
