My first real slow cooker disaster!
Last night I prepared the veggies for my 'French' Chicken and Veggie dinner with plans to throw in some left over frozen rotisserie chicken today.
This morning, in a mad rush I dumped in the 'chicken' and in the back of my mind was wondering why it looked, as this Borscht Belt ethnic Jew would say, 'schmaltzy.' I added my garlic and herb sauce and quartered artichokes and left for the day.
11 hours later I come home relieved that another day has passed that the crock pot did not burn the house down. Excited on the smell of herbed chicken I walk into the house and hardly smelled a thing. I turn off the crock pot, and put a spoon to stir and it came apart...in the form of my sister's homemade mac and cheese...
Good news is that the meal was salvageable and amazingly the pasta did not get mushy. |

Now that is amazing. I was shuddering for you, because I really hate the texture of overcooked pasta.

Funny, you should mention that, I have not slept a full night in almost two months! I'm lucky to sleep 3 hours of late. |

Ha! Sounds like something I would do.
I could use some good crock pot recipes. I got a new stainless steele oblong 7 quart cooker for Christmas. It's huge! I still have my little Brady Bunch looking burnt orange one, too, though. |
