So, Michael was a pretty regular napper...from 8am to 10am and then from 1pm to 3pm, give or take a half hour here and there. Now he's all over the place! One day he'll nap from 12-3 then the next day he wants 2 shorter naps...it's pretty bad.
I think he's too young at 13 months to drop to 1 nap a day, what do you guys think? My latest plan has been to put him down in the morning around 9:30 or 10 but then wake him up at 11 so he'll theoretically be tired around 2 or 3 for an afternoon nap. But in the afternoon he just plays in his crib during his naptime.
Any advice or hints or just support is really welcome. Especially now that I'm pregnant, I need naps too! |

I've got some bad news for ya... lots of babies go down to one nap a day about about 1 yr.
Maybe it would be better to tweak it so he would sleep from 12-3 then you could have a nice big block of naptime! |

| Yeah, Liz went down to one nap before 12 months. We maneuver that nap, lol. Like yesterday she slept from 3-5:45, but other times it'll be 1:30-4:30. Today it's 2 already, so I'll probaly get her down in about 15-20 minutes and then we'll have to make sure she's up at 5:15 to take the kids to karate. It seems as long as she gets about 2.5 hours, then all is cool. Really, Michael is being normal. |

Nate kept two naps a day until almost 2 years old. Aaron was probably down to one nap a day by 1 years old though. it's normal.
If I were you I'd put him down more towards 11am, see if he can take a long nap. Then keep him up all afternoon, even if he gets cranky, and he can go to bed earlier. What time does he go down for the night? At that age w/ Aaron, I would give him that 11am nap after feeding him lunch, and he'd be in bed for the night about 730pm. |
