This week the shit hit the fan. I feel sick and the heartburn has started already. I never get heartburn except when I was pregnant with Michael. Even with my previous 2 miscarriages I didn't get any heartburn, so I'm taking this as a sign that everything is good and I'm having another boy
I haven't puked yet, but the way I feel it's only a matter of time.
How are the rest of you knocked up chicks doing? |

oh yeah, the wicked heartburn has already begun here too. I had it pretty bad with the other two, but it didn't start with them until I was well into the 2nd trimester! I'm only 6 weeks now!!! Ugh, it's yuck.
And my pregnancy induced narcolepsy has returned with a vegence. |

I'm craving hamburger meat in spaghetti sauce though. Like I HAVE to have it.
And pizza sauce - the kind that if you had a little cut on the side of your mouth it would be a tangy kind of hurt. Sauce that has some zip to it.
We went to PIzza hut for my sauce craving fix. Pizza Hut pizza sucks - it was just a big ass bread ball, with some cheese - no sauce.
I'm on a quest for proper pizza.
Very bizzarre. |

Easy with the tums pregnant women! It's not something that pg women are advised to pop, calcium salts can build up in your renal system, and they are actually on a higher pregnancy class than say zantac or protonix. So if heartburn gets out of hand, definitely talk to your doctor, because you don't be wanting kidney stones or worse.
As for me, no symptoms. No cravings. I think I was nauseated today but I always have tummy issues. Even before this I was on aciphex for heartburn/reflux and I am generally nauseated 5 out of 7 days of the week anyway and cannot stomach food. THere is nothing new even with being pg.
I'm still very ambivalent about this. I cannot beleive it and wonder if I've just fucked life up. And then of course I feel guilty for saying that because I could possibly have to face this kid and I hope so much I do not feel this way forever. Babies momma's are supposed to want them from the beginning, not feel nervous about them. So I continue to feel really bad about that. I also am still working up until Aug 21st when I go back to school. And I am not going to put off school. I figure, if next spring comes and I have to drop, I will just deal with it then. |

I'm telling you, it's all about Protonix for the reflux/heartburn. It's only a tiny dose taken once a day, and it works 100%. It's expensive though--my copay was $45 which is the highest level. But my OB gave me samples for like 5 months.
Becky--don't feel bad. I think it's totally normal to feel ambivilant about an unplanned baby. You are certainly not the first mother to feel that way. |

| Yeah, totally, Becky! When I had that first ultrasound with Liz and they said there was an empty sac, I felt so relieved! But, then when I went back and the HCG levels had gone up and they sent me to the hospital for the u/s and I SAW her and she was fine, I just cried I was so happy. It's a really weird mix of emotions when you've got kids and you're pregnant with another that you hadn't planned on (and planned on NOT having). All I can tell you is what I told Kristy and Eileen-you're a MOM, and you know that once this one is born, your mom instincts will take over and flood you with love. I wouldn't guarantee this with someone I don't know and who hasn't had kids, but all of you guys, you'd all just take care of any baby given to you, I know it! |

Becky...don't feel too bad. Mine is planned and I still feel ambivalent about it sometimes. It's totally normal. Especially when Michael is throwing a tantrum I find myself wondering why I purposefully got myself pregnant again and how will I deal with his tantrums along with a newborn crying. ARG!
Thanks for the Tums advice too. If the heartburn gets bad and I find myself reaching for the Tums often I will definitely ask my OB about some medication.
I haven't had any cravings except for watermelon, but I always want watermelon when it's this hot out. |
