My boss and I got into this huge arguement over whether 12pm is 12 noon or 12 midnight.

I say 12 noon, he swears up and down that it means 12 midnight. Of course I asked my colleagues and they all agree with me.

There is no 12 am or 12 pm, it's either noon or midnight, acc to my research. Which lasted 4 seconds. Laughing

LOL, Annie, but according to what they say, that 12:01 being am or pm, then the 12:00 before it would have to be the other, right? If it's 12:01 am, then the 12:00 preceeding it would have to be 12pm, midnight, huh?

I don't know, I never thought about it. More evidence for the use of a 24 hour clock.

Noon is neither am (before noon )or pm (after noon ) it is noon, but midnight is both , 12 hours am (before noon )and 12 hours pm (afternoon).

Sewingsiren, the time philosopher. Wink Wink

I always thought of 12pm as noon myself, but what SS says does seem logical.

...Which as far as I am concerned, working for a big company should be a mandate. I have my watch set at a 24h clock.
