well...I am exactly the same weight as last week. So, I didn't lose, but didn't gain either, and considering how much sugar I ate it is a miracle.
I did much better with water, getting 2 or 3 glasses a day. And I did workout 4 times plus got in lots of walking.
For this week I want to up my water intake to 4 glasses a day, keep working out, and watch my sugar intake.
Jessica...how is that zit healing?? |

No budge. I have an appointment with my GP the 17th and will have a battery of tests done then. I called my insurance and they actually DON'T cover nutritionist for weight loss--only for diabetes managment/prevention (and I could play the GD card here, but I bet it's the same bitchy food nazis I had when pregnant and I hate them) or for blood pressure management.
And....I found out that the hospital I was planning on having my surgery at has gone from level 1 to level 2 coverage for my insurance, which means instead of a $250 copay and 100% coverage, it's a $350 copay and $85% coverage. Judging by my c-section bill and the 3 days in the hospital for ME alone, (the hernia bill ought to be similar), that means about $3,500 out of my pocket Uh, that can't happen. Soooooo......I have to have it at another hosptial. This one is literally 5 minutes from my house, so this sucks. I looked up my surgeon though and he does do work at one of the level 1 hospitals, so I guess that's where I have to have it done. Mike isn't happy about it, he says they're level 1 for a reason, ie: they suck.
I'm starving myself today just to see if the number on the scale goes down any. |

Dontcha love it? They will cover you once you have diabetes, but not a nutritionally sound program to help keep you from getting it in the first place.
I think it's a good idea to get checked out--especially your thyroid. |

Ok, my goal for this week is to walk at least 4 times for 20-30 minutes, and drink more water. I'm already cutting down on portion sizes because I just don't have room, but I still often feel miserable for an hour or more after eating. SO I need to be more careful about not stuffing myself. I'm uncomfortable enough as it is!
I'm going to be ready to walk when dh gets home this evening, so that will be one time down. |

So far so good! Took an hour long power walk last night and went to muscle conditioning class today.
My goals for this week are to go to the following classes:
Tues: spinning
wed: weights class
thurs: spinning
fri: weghts class
sat off
sunday power walk
I'm also going to try to work on my portion size and cutting out more carbs (which is painful for me) |

I'm up 4 freaking pounds this month! Fuckity-fuck-fuck-fuck! Wow, I never use that word online. I feel so liberated! I think it's stress eating, plus the fact that dh bought me a 35 pound red velvet cake for my b-day last week (did I mention my b-day? If not, I was 33 on March 27). How I love me some red velvet cake.
The stress eating is because dh is deploying to Iraq before the end of this month. Ugh! That alone is enough to make me want to eat the entire 35lb cake in one sitting and ask for more. I had slacked off my exercising, because we went to visit our families in mid-March (my cousin got married) and just haven't gotten myself back in the groove since. I'm working on it though. I did 30 minutes on the bike yesterday (though not today because I had an early appt to list a house), oh and walked approximately 97.8 miles at the Nashville Zoo on Sat. Though I did eat an ice cream sandwich and some Dippin Dots (weird stuff!) so that probably negates the walking. <sigh> I will not buy bigger pants dammit, so I guess I'd better get my ass on the bike and get back to the weight training. I have this fear that my ass will soon be visible from space, like the Great Wall, so that's some good motivation. |

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. He bought a HUGE cake, and it was only the 3 of us, so it might as well have been a 35lb cake. Which will equate to 50lbs on my hips.

Aww! We might have met up! I actually thought about emailing you and letting you know we'd be there, but I was afraid you'd think I was nuts (or nuttier as the case may be). Yes, it was hot, and yes it was crowded! Do you have a membership? We bought one (cause it's taxdeductible-oh, and it helps the animals, blah, blah, blah), so I'll probably be schleping Cooper down there frequently after dh leaves, just to get out of the house. Maybe we can get together! |

Yes, we are members. Ethan was taking a preschool zoo class and last Saturday was the last day of it, so we've been the last 6 Saturdays in a row.
We should get together sometime. Not on a weekend though, 'k? That place turns into a zoo on the weekends. |

I have totally fucked up my diet over the last 6 weeks. The stress got so bad that I stopped drinking the tea altogether and back on the coffee non-stop.
Then the stress induced yet another bad case of bronchitis from a head cold that was practically nothing! I wound up in the emergency room at 1:30am Saturday morning (good news was that I was the only patient in the ER, it's nice to use a rural hospital) I HATE taking antibiotics! The also put me on some non-narcotic cough medication that didn't do shit. The coughing and gasping for air got so bad that I had to pull my kids out of daycare on Monday and schlep an hour to my family practice. They showered me with prendisone (sp) and a new perscription of Robitussin w/ coedine.
Anyhow I am slowing inching my way back to my old diet starting with cous cous and tofu, few piece of fruit, and one detox tea...oh, yeah, I need to get a low-fat yogurt to replace the good bacteria that got shot to hell from the antibiotic.
At last check I am 127 lbs with clothes on. |
